Good but really needs some continuity checks
The new Emperor has forgotten his skill list and class. He doesn't craft anymore or cook. His drive for skills is lost to leveling. He doesn't even use his skills well. He gets through most of the challenges by doing a suicidal act. His progression is gone.

Awesome Story and Narration
Book 4 continues to keep me hooked on this series!!! Amazing story line with amazing narration. Everything from epic battle tales to world building.

Do you like fighting with little story?
Fight after fight. Almost nothing but fighting now. Story and character development is lost in favor of pushing for higher levels. All the fun interactions and both skill and personal development I loved in the first book aren't even in the back seat; they got dumped on the side of the road in the last book.

Standard progression of the story, dude loves to build up the female characters while the male characters virtually stay static. White Knight syndrome for sure.
