Jason has discovered that his homeworld is not what he thought. What’s more, the rest of the planet is on the precipice of sharing his revelation.

With magic on the rise and forces pulling him in multiple directions, Jason is faced with challenges greater than ever before.

Even as his power reaches new and incredible heights, he is faced with the realization that going beyond his best is still not enough.

About the series: Experience an isekai culture clash as a laid-back Australian finds himself in a very serious world. See him gain suspiciously evil powers through a unique progression system combining cultivation and traditional LitRPG elements. Enjoy a weak-to-strong story with a main character who earns his power without overshadowing everyone around him, with plenty of loot, adventurers, gods and magic. Rich characters and world-building offer humor, political intrigue and slice-of-life elements alongside lots of monster fighting and adventure.

LitRPG means Literary Role Playing Game. Simply put, it’s the book version of watching someone play a video game, usually one that’s set up like an MMO (massively multiplayer online) RPG. It’s a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, depending on how it comes to be that our main character ends up living inside a virtual reality. the point of LitRPG is not how we get there, but that we get to be in this virtual reality period, living life as a badass video-game character. Beat the grind and submerse yourself in these addictive LitRPGs.

I like the story but the Author's politics are painful to digest. We get it you don't like America and our freedom.
Unfortunately that's not the only thing, this story once again makes our main character bitching and complaining about doing what needs to be done and for killing people. Boo Hoo get off your cross make a bridge with it and get over it. We have already done the song and dancing in book 2 3 and 4

hate his politics but like the book

A great continuation of the series. That ending though, what a hook! now to wait for the next one :(

Fantastic! Looking forward to the next one.

Before reading this installment of Jason acting like a total buffoon and, once again, cracking me up and making me feel like Jason and I would totally be good friends, I read the reviews and found a lot of people complaining about “the inconsistencies with the magic system invented for this book to solve the problem of Shirtaloon writing himself into a corner.” Not every book in a series, no matter how talented the writer, can be a winner, I thought, and prepared myself to dislike the book as well.

Well, I can say with complete conviction that those gripes are total rubbish. Absolute nonsense.

Jason’s entire multiverse came into being inside the author’s mind, including the magic system, the method for gaining experience, and every other fictional, outlandish craziness these novels contain… why people are drawing the line at such a small part of the book seems like a total cop-out to me. Feels similar to past events where another author envied the attention and asked their fanboys to brigade the reviews.

This book is every bit as good as the other books in the series.

[VERY SMALL SPOILERS AHEAD] I just wish we could get back to Clive. He is my favorite. This book starts to wrap up the story-line on the more familiar version of earth, and doesn’t get Jason back to the other world, unfortunately. So that is a bummer. More than likely they will be returning by the end of book 6, but I kinda hope that this particular arc finishes in early book 6, and we can get back to the whole group we met and loved from the first 3 books.

And I will definitely be pre-ordering book 6. Can. Not. Wait.

Highly recommend. Ignore the nay-sayers and purchase with confidence! Enjoy with a smile on your face and a sandwich in your hand (and maybe a couple stashed in your inventory).

Not sure what the problem is!

I liked the idea of having powerful gold rank monsters and vampires that arise at the end of the book. Still not keen on the anti- American whining, but the skip button is OP against lengthy socialist rants. Not a bad story though

End of the world?

I see a lot of comments about how the author writes some of the characters with liberal viewpoints. I think those assessments are correct. I also see other characters that are far more conservative, so it balances out to a extent. I haven’t read a single adventure or psi-phi novel that didn’t contain some political undertones.

All in all the author keeps it real and ascribes the writing to views held by many. It’s a good listen. i liked it.

Enjoyable series I had originally began reading on royal road and now enjoy more listening to as I cook or drive. Also, the people who rant about the anti American tone nonsense in the reviews crack me up.

Always a good listen

This is my second read through and this is by far the most emotional roller coaster of a book in this series. I think I cried a few times. author does a great job at the emotional depth and the performer does a great job at portraying it.

Isn't too bad of a book but does seem more setting up foundation for future books. In way a nice break from prior books.

More of setup for future books
