Stay with it, you won’t regret it!

Wow. I almost stopped reading this book after about 7 chapters, but I am SOOO glad I didn’t! It was a bit confusing in the beginning with the different words for each type of non-mortal, the kingdoms and history...but it all came together in a way that was completely unexpected and riveting! I loved the narrator. What talent! She was really quite amazing, and every voice was believably a different person. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Excellent story, riveting narration!

Thoroughly enjoyed this one, 10/10 recommend for any fantasy lovers out there. Truly excellently narrated.

Yesssss!!

This is exaclty what I needed right now. I needed a book that was hard to put down. I needed a book that had me wanting to stay up way past my bedtime. This book was so good! I loved it! Such an interesting world and magic system. I loved the characters. And this book was so sexy! So good!

So so great

This is one series where I've gone back and relistened to the first two books 5 time already. It's amazing and we'll worth your time. The romance is breathy and seductive. The narrator does an AMAZING job. I can't get over it. I bought physical copies for my "favorite books collection"

Surprisingly good!

I usually have a hard time picking out books. this was amazing start to finish.

Good story

I enjoyed the story and will continue the series, but the perspective is very much from a teenager to the point that it’s grating to listen to after a while. Too much description and repetitive inner monologue for me, personally. I don’t think it carries the story and doesn’t enrich the environment, because it comes off more like filler. The narrator did a great job, but I think adding more depth/ variety to her dialogue/ reactions could have potentially helped the main character to not be as frustrating and flat. I would personally like to see more of this type of story with more mature and clever characters, in general. The naive coming-of-age trope is dated and overdone, though it obviously sells. All that being said, I would still recommend the book and did enjoy it.

I have to say this book has surprised me! It has humor romance and action! A bad ass heroine as well. Can’t wait to get started on the next one!!

I love this book!

I listened to this book for the second time from January 10-12, 2021. I first listened to it from September 16-18, 2020. I was very relieved that I loved the book just as much this time as I did when I first listened to it.

Stina Nielsen did a really excellent job of performing this story. I hope she does narrating for the rest of the series!

And I'll need to buy the next book very soon. Because this one ended in such a way that makes it imperative that I listen to it!

Worth the credit!!!

This audible book was so enjoyable and worth the credit! I am hard to please when it comes to books but wow!! I just hope the next book in the series is just as good!
