Intriguing characters

I would like to congratulate the author of this novel. Of between two and 300 romances I’ve read in the past few years, I believe this is the first male lead who was under 6 foot tall. Now he may have been 5‘10“ not much different but still, it took courage to the author to pave the way for good looking short men everywhere.

It wasn’t just the one characteristic that made for great characters. I love it when the protagonistshave their own quirks, weaknesses, idiosyncrasies, and maybe a bit of craziness Like we all do. These two had their problems to solve, and they did it in a very humorous and entertaining manner, which made for a fun and entertaining read.

Fun, Charming, & an Absolute Delight

Loved it! Top, top tier characters and storytelling. Such a fun story, I couldn’t get enough of Alex and Devin.

• I loved how both protagonists were skeptics of the supernatural… until it knocked on their door.
• Watching Alex guide Devin through trials to master his abilities was both thrilling and tender—a dynamic built on trust, tension, and reluctant hope.

🧐 What Fell Flat

• The narrative leans heavily on the idea that Devin is “too old” for Hollywood, which feels outdated. Actors like Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise are thriving well past 40. Devin’s age shouldn’t be a career death sentence—it’s prime time for reinvention. Even television actors like Pedro Pascal, Noah Wyle and Shawn Hatosy are taking Hollywood by storm lately.

Aaron Shedlock and Brittney Presley deliver a stellar dual performance. Aaron’s gravelly voice oozes charisma and vulnerability, while Brittney’s soft, expressive delivery brings emotional depth and clarity. Her character work is especially strong—distinct, emotive, and immersive.

Laugh out loud

This was a great listen. I’m so glad I picked it. It was a great love story with with real humor that made me laugh out loud. A great take on a werewolf story that wasn’t wild fantasy. Would definitely recommend

Love letter to fandoms

Lovable, yet realistic characters, good level of spice, and unique plot. This story is a nostalgic ride through growing up within a fandom with a splash of the paranormal. Narrated performances were just right. I’ll be listening again.

Recommend by the NYT, didn’t disappoint.

Totally enjoyed this listen. Unique plot, great characters, wonderful narration and spicy in the best way. Some of the abbreviations and jargon from the fan fic world went over my head but eh no matter. I can only hope more of the same from Danan.

I like this werewolf rom-com

I feel like there are a lot of Buffy-type parallels here. I really enjoyed this though the beginning is slow-going. Took me a while to really get into it. It was sweet and spicy and perfectly wonderful. I wish there was more…

this was a really unique and kind of weird but entertaining story. I've liked her other books better but I found this one entertaining

Pitch perfect narrators and story!

Fun and surprisingly emotional story inspired by fandom. A must read/listen for any fans of Teen Wolf, Supernatural, or Rosie Danan’s past work!
