The book is great. The narrating is great… with the exception of the female narrator’s male voice. It ruins the audiobook. Jack sound like he could CARE LESS about life or anything that happens in it. If this was my first experience with her narrating I might believe it was part of the character portrayal… but it is not, and every single one of her male characters is the same. I wish it didn’t get under my skin so much, but it ruins the experience for me.

This contemporary romance had it all!

If you’re looking for a contemporary romance with a little bit of comedy, lots of banter, a great work place setting, tons of yearning, and a fabulous audiobook performance from both of the narrators and way more emotional depth than I expected then this is the audiobook for you. I cannot wait to read or listen to more of this author’s work.

Poppy and Jack are the cutest!! I didn’t know much going into this other than Poppy is an influencer and Jack is a chef. What we find out is that Poppy and Jack’s lives have been intertwined for along time with Jack working for Poppy’s father. When life throws a curve ball for Jack, he goes back to his roots to resurrect a locals favorite restaurant. Poppy on the other hand, wants to show her parents that she is series and more than her social media persona. Together these two team up to bring the restaurant back to life, and in the process learn a few things about each other and themselves. Together they grow and fall in love. Poppy and Jack are the perfect mix and sweet and spicy and I loved every minute of my immersive read!

Love the story line - not the performance

I really like this book - the story line is good and really enjoyable. But the male voice is too low and it makes it hard for me to hear some of the things he says. If I wear airpods I can hear it, but in the car it drops too low...
