The book is great. The narrating is great… with the exception of the female narrator’s male voice. It ruins the audiobook. Jack sound like he could CARE LESS about life or anything that happens in it. If this was my first experience with her narrating I might believe it was part of the character portrayal… but it is not, and every single one of her male characters is the same. I wish it didn’t get under my skin so much, but it ruins the experience for me.

Narration was not it

My critique is about the narration. Not the story. The female narrator was fine when she was in the female leads voice but when she had to do the male characters voice I could NOT hear or understand what was being said. It was like she was speaking with her teeth clenched. The volume was so low and it was muffled. It was so frustrating not being able to understand what was being said.

Read, Don’t Listen

Harper Audio what happened? The performers were great, but when the female narrated MMC lines it was lower than a whisper. It made listening to this absolutely infuriating. Would have been a DNF if I hadn’t paid for it 🙃 The story itself is a cute, easy summer read though! I definitely would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t rewinding and turning the volume from 10-100 constantly.

This contemporary romance had it all!

If you’re looking for a contemporary romance with a little bit of comedy, lots of banter, a great work place setting, tons of yearning, and a fabulous audiobook performance from both of the narrators and way more emotional depth than I expected then this is the audiobook for you. I cannot wait to read or listen to more of this author’s work.
