The moment I catch sight of the new coach, a spark ignites. Do we risk it all with a secret affair?

Jonah: I’m minding my own business when he struts into our locker room.

His confidence and sex appeal in his fitted suit and million-dollar smile are undeniable.

After picking my jaw off the floor, I collect myself. I need to find out more about him.

Do I follow him around? Yes. Do I make a fool of myself? Maybe.

While celebrating a win at the gay bar, my temper flares when I see him with another man. Do I dare take a chance?

Ryan: The first day at my new coaching job, he’s there. A winger whose dark hair and light blue eyes have me stumbling over my first words to the team.

Personal relations with players aren’t allowed. But he plays offense and I coach defense, so does it count?

Everywhere I go, he’s there. Tempting me.

My resolve is crumbling and I’m struggling to keep my distance.

When he catches me at a gay bar in a compromising position, it’s game over. Can we keep this hidden?

Crossing Lines is the second book in the college hockey series, Desert Ice Hockey, and is the follow up to the Rock U series. It features a coach with a dark past and a driven hockey player, a secret relationship, found family, hurt/comfort and a small age gap. Another great addition to the series. It was enjoyable watching these two try to stay away from each other but couldn't. Their love kept them through some rough times, and the support given by their teammates was greatly appreciated. The stalker storyline could have been resolved better, as I didn't like how that situation was handled. Despite that this was an enjoyable listen and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Jonah and Ryan love at first glance

Jonah and Ryan do not seem to make very good decisions even when it comes to each other. The real factors that would be involved when a coach and a player are involved were well done here. I loved Jonah's friends and family. I was all about the supportive side characters. Interestingly there is a stalker here as well. Not going to give away any of those details though! This relationship was intense with some good spice and emotion. I had read this story as well and I think that Finnley Cole's narration definitely brought out all the personalities and emotions!

This second book in Christie Gordon's Desert Ice Hockey series is another good one. We're back with the college puck boys of ASU, focusing this time on player Jonah and new defensive coach Ryan. Jonah is entering his senior year on the team with eyes towards either the NHL or medical school. But he's hit right up side the head with fate with his first glimpse of Ryan as he introduced to the team. Jonah is all in right there no matter what. Ryan is struggling with the long-term illness of his mother and the recent break up of his first and only relationship. He just knows that getting involved with a player on his team is the worst idea ever, but he just can't stop himself and neither can Jonah. Their fragile relationship is threatened to be exposed by a vindictive ex who has become Ryan's stalker. There's hurt/comfort, age gap, hockey, and instalove to savor in this book. And, as always, Finley Cole is a fantastic narrator. I especially love the Canadian accent for Ryan. The MCs are very sweet together and I can't wait to read the rest of this series.

I truly loved this story on paper, but listening to the story just makes it seem more real. Ryan coming to be the new coach in the middle of the season seemed odd, but he was late because he was with his mom during her cancer treatment. Then finding out how he put himself in danger with the psycho at the bar just makes me want to hug him and wrap him in bubble wrap. Then Jonah who plays on Ryan’s team seems to have fallen head over heels for his new coach at their first meeting. I really do love this book and these players and can’t wait to read/hear the next book. I recommend this book to everyone who loves mm hockey romance stories being read to them.

Crossing Lines is the second book in the Desert Ice Hockey series. I feel it is best to read this series in order to get the most out of the story. This is a spin off series from her popular Rock U series. It is a standalone series but why not enjoy the Rock U series. This book is about Jonah one of the squad and Ryan the new coach. I love the way Christie writes the characters because you feel like they are real people. I loved watching these two in their secret relationship. I got everything I expected from a Christie Gordon book in this story. I can't wait for the next book in the series. If you get the audio narration, Finnley Cole does a wonderful job of narrating this series. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
