Highly recommend!
As a Paramedic I often deal with adults who lack coping skills which leads to the medical/traumatic crisis they call me for. This book is packed full with amazing techniques and theories that could help anyone cope with just being alive. Nowadays, it seems that merely staying alive is an accomplishment. Coping with life and the various things we encounter should be taught to everyone across the plant. We would all lead happier more peaceful lives.

Look, I’ve read Polyvagal Theory and many other books on neuropsychology and trauma. The content of this books was a well-done overview with action based suggestions. For what it set out to do, it did a great job and the swearing is to be expected from this author.

Served With Profanity as a Garnish, Not a Spice
Don't let the garnish diminish from the meal.
I don't usually listen to folks that curse as much as this author. Her delivery caused me to consciously put aside those words and listen more intently to the message. It is definitely 'real talk' that cuts through the bull. Dr. Harper accomplishes her stated intent to "write a useful hot mess of a book, damn it!"
