Agent Bradly "Wolfe" Tucker has one case he cannot solve: six murdered women and a cold trail leading nowhere. When bodies with an eerily similar MO show up in Philadelphia, he volunteers to assist with the case. He figures he will spend a few days in Philly, hand the case off, and head back to his life in Seattle. But everything changes when he stops at a local bar, looks across the room, and sees her.

Agent Leda Bailey has had a bad week. She has three dead women and no trail to follow. The clues don't add up, and nothing makes sense. So, she heads to her favorite bar to forget about the case for a few hours. When he offers to buy her a drink, she thinks this just might be the distraction she needs. The encounter turns into a weekend. Leda thinks this might be something so much more, but can she really let down her guard enough to let him in? He wasn't supposed to fall for her. He wasn't supposed to stay. But he loses himself every time he looks into her dark eyes.

He was Wolfe to his former SEAL team, Agent Tucker to FBI colleagues, and Tuc to close friends. But he wants to be someone else for her. Will she let him into her carefully guarded world? Or will she run when she realizes how damaged he really is? Friends tease him about his protector complex. They might be right. Because he would do anything to keep Leda safe. Even give her his heart.

Leda Bailey accepted long ago that no one will see beyond her disability. When she meets Tuc, Leda realizes she wants more than just a one-night stand. But how does she let him behind the walls that keep her safe? Will she lose herself if she lets him in? Or is opening her heart to Tuc the key to finally being truly safe?

The Omega Series is intended for mature audiences over the age of 18. Parental guidance and caution are suggested due to possible triggering situations, including but not limited to strong language, alcohol consumption, violence, sexual situations, and depictions of trauma.

JR Tootill wrote an amazing crime romance book with all the suspense, mystery, and romance in one. Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York were phenomenal as Leda and Tuc. Joe Arden was the perfect villain and was eerily creepy in all the good ways.

Nice fast storyline with a good buildup of the characters. I enjoyed the action with a hint of spice for the performances. I think they all did amazing and really made the story come together. I especially liked having a different voice for Ben and how it added to the listening experience.

I loved the whole story! The best story line I’ve listened to. The narration was outstanding. They brought the story alive. The emotions they brought out was so real. This book would make a fantastic made for TV movie. Some how a producer needs to hear this story.

Strength and love

My romantic suspense heart is happy. Maxine Mitchell and Sebastian York are perfect as Leda and Tuc with their banter, and it's great to see such strong characters be normal vulnerable human beings. They've been through very hard times and just want someone to love, yet are both still kind of scared and uncertain if they can let go enough and trust another person to let love in. She lost a limb, he lost a friend, and together they weave their way through that mental trauma in a way that reminds the reader that just because you survived a terrible ordeal, that doesn't mean the pain just goes away, mentally or physically.
The aftermath of surviving takes a lot of work. You don't see a whole lot of books reminding people that just because you were good in the military, that doesn't mean you'll be instantly great at or enjoy being an FBI Agent. I liked seeing the difference and how it might feel to have to transition from one to the other. The serial killer plot sucked me in right away, and Joe Arden was fantastically creepy as Ben. I love books where we get to see the killer's point of view throughout the investigation, and the whole thing gave me a Silence of the Lambs vibes. Definitely recommend. Can't wait for more!

Hard to stop listening to. Really liked it!

Codename Wolfe by J.R. Tootill is a fun mix of suspense, romance, and action that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The story follows Tuc and Leda, two FBI agents who team up to solve a string of murders.

One of the standout aspects of this audiobook is Queen Maxine Mitchell’s performance. She really brings the characters to life, nailing the humor, tension, and emotions. She does an especially great job with Leda, capturing her strength and toughness perfectly.

The chemistry between Tuc and Leda is off the charts, with their snappy, witty banter being a major highlight. They’re a perfect match in stubbornness and wit, and their relationship develops naturally. There’s a little bit of spice, but the main focus is on the suspense and mystery, which keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Tootill’s writing, paired with the killer narration, creates an immersive experience. The pacing is spot-on, with just the right amount of tension and twists to keep things interesting. The action scenes are thrilling, and the emotional moments are handled with care, striking a nice balance.

Joe Arden’s character might make you feel a little uneasy, but that just shows how good he is at voice acting. He really nails it, making the character feel super real.

All in all, Codename Wolfe is definitely worth a listen—if only to hear Queen Maxine Mitchell banter with Sebastian York and experience a creepy Joe Arden in the mix.

Codename: Wolfe is book #1 in The Omega series and I couldn't get enough of this one. Tuck is a former SEAL (codename Wolfe) now working for the FBI. The serial killer case that he was unable to solve haunts him, until a call from Philadelphia with similar victims gives him the chance to hand it off and leave it in the past. Leda is the lead agent in Philly and isn't looking forward to any "outside" help on the case.

We get a little background on Tuck's military buddies and what haunts them. We get Leda's traumatic past and the team that supports her. We also get the POV of the serial killer with his sordid past. The intrigue, suspense, and steamy times made this a binge listen for me!

The narration is pure gold. Sebastian York is Tuck, with his gruff exterior, but big ol' heart. Queen Maxine Mitchell is Leda, the tough talking agent with self-esteem issues. Joe Arden cameos as Ben, the serial killer, and gives the totally-creeped-me-out performance we expect. 5/5 stars for this trio!

WOW! Loved this!

Holy ending

A tense, sometimes chilling, FBI thriller with an insane serial killer to stop before he strikes again. The Philly Agents are struggling and desperate.. desperate enough to bring in help from the Seattle Team as the killer’s women victims were painted and dressed and poised there too. Leda is a very strong, emotionally and physically damaged (bionic hand) heroine who gets terrible PTSD and Tuc is a hero who is just that.. a hero with a big heart. And their random attractive stranger quickie in a Bar unexpectedly has them connecting in more than one way.. then the penny drops.. then accusations rise.. then walls come up.. then bargains begin.. then chemistry combusts. It’s kinda insta, but there’s friction and fire and a whole heap of hurdles with it as these two navigate the clues, the crime scenes, the secondary teammates and each other. But they’re being watched by a killer.. a killer with a sick plan for just one of them. The story was addictive, the romance wasn’t always on stable ground but it was obvious how much they loved and cared for each other. Tuc and Leda had depth and there was good character growth between them. The cameo parts from Ben, the sinister killer, was played well by Joe and the duet-style narration by Sebastian and Maxine was top tier perfection and fit the characters which gave it such a natural realistic flow.

Worth a credit? Yes, I really got caught up in all the drama, action, romance, heat, danger and emotional highs and lows until it finally ended at way past 2 a.m.. 🥱😵‍💫
