When I said I wished my life was less boring, having an orc mate was not what I expected.

The town of Destiny always felt small and suffocating, but now it was just…strange. First, there were the disappearances, and then, the most adorable man I’d ever seen showed up at my job, and then kept showing up. I should be worried, but something about Mahk drew me in, and I found myself not minding my little stalker too much. He was just so innocent, and curious about the oddest things. I wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and never let him go.

But then all that changed one night and I discovered the truth. Mahk was really an orc and lived in a completely different world than me. If that wasn’t hard enough to believe, he then said I was his mate, like fated mate, but those don’t exist outside of romance novels, do they? I planned to laugh it off, but despite calling Mahk my little stalker, I was the one who couldn’t stay away.

Claimed by the Orc Assassin is Book 3 in the multi-author series, Orc Mate Selection. While it can be listened to as a standalone, they are best listened to in order.

A different take on the monster smut genre in this series. When Mahk, the Royal Assassin to his orc Emperor brother Axum, crosses the portal into the human world to chase the villain from books 1 & 2, he comes face to face with his ‘fated mate’ in the form of Tanner, a former collegiate football player who now works at a convenience store and cares for his handicapped Mom and four siblings. We first met Tanner in book 1 when Rainn shops for snacks before starting his camping trip.

Mahk is a great character. He’s the youngest and smallest of the Orc brothers. In his orc form he’s taller than Tanner, but in his human form he’s six or more inches shorter and smaller. The chemistry between he and Tanner is humorous at times.

Due to the caregiving, Mahk and Tanner stay in the human realm instead of the Orc realm for this story. Mahk returns to his home country when his brothers have need of him to perform his duties.

For most of the book Mahk remains in his human form. Their claiming is a little different from the other books as Tanner doesn’t bite Mahk for some reason.

The audiobook version is excellent. The narrator portrays both Mahk and Tanner perfectly! Highly recommend the audiobook!

These books had way more potential than they were given since these are short stories and full of fluff.

There are many typos and grammatical errors throughout.
