Good book, Great narration

This is a new to me author and I will say that I will be watching for more of her books in the future. I loved Jake and Casey, their banter in the beginning of this book was so fun! I laughed a lot which is exactly what I think the perfect relationship to start out like!! Their story was sweet with a few demons but those demons didn't make this book all drama which I loved. It has a little but which I think is the prefect amount. I really enjoyed the authors writing and the only thing that I think would have made this better for me is a little more steam. They had the love and the amazing connection but I would have loved to have felt the sexual attraction throughout the book not just as the build up to them falling in love.

The narration was great, I love both of these narrators and added this book to my wishlist because of them.

Wow

I have written quite a few reviews but I have never been eager to write one. I have well over a thousand books on my kindle and have read them all. I would rate this in my top 5. To be honest I didn't have much faith in this book when I bought it. I had a credit to use and needed something to listen to when I'm in the car. I've read many rock star meets girl stories. This was so much more than that. Jake is a really emotionally and physically screwed up rich rock star and Casey is this down to earth pretty girl who meet at a wedding. He doesn't date but feels something for Casey because she treats him normally. Name is so much more than people assume because he really is a somewhat broken man. As a teen he was kidnapped by serial killer. What he endured has made him afraid of relationships. Casey is everything he wants but something he knows he can't have. The story is so well written I couldn't stop listening. I heard the entire book in two days. This book made me cry and laugh. Please get this book. You won't be disappointed.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to others. Great story but sad in some parts. I love the characters. I always love anything that is narrated by Andi Ardnt. I love her voice and the author chose wisely to have her read the female character, Cassie.

Cute

This story was cute. The interaction and banter between the two main characters was laugh out loud funny at times. It was just a nice, easy, listen. I did find Casey to be a bit too fan girl/star struck at times, so that it was hard to determine where her awe ended and actual liking of Jake as a person began. It was clear she liked him as a person. But, at times she seemed so in awe of his fame and giddy, it made me wonder if he were just any other guy would she be that into him. It just never seemed far from her mind. And, some of the decisions were realistically juvenile and "young and dumb" decisions that really highlighted how, not only young but, immature they were, but not obnoxiously so. They just happened to work out in this story. Still, the book was enjoyable, funny, and cute, with lot's of fun.
This was my first by this author. I really liked the humor and style. It wasn't your typical rocker story, which I liked. Jake was just a fairly normal guy who happened to be a rocker. Overall, it was a pleasant listen.

Great love story

Most love stories follow a pattern. This one does not. It hit me at all levels as a daughter of a professional singer, as a retired nurse who took care of abused trauma patients and a wife of a total knee replacement. This story was true love story.

Overwhelmed

There some Audioble books that stand on there own. The story, ,and the carrectors that are in the journey. I have been a member for 3 years now and will continue because Audioble has pick good authors that can tell a story like this to 1. Capture your heart. 2. Keep you into the story. 3. Move your emotions. Good narration and great story is this story. You will not be disappointed.

What did you find wrong about the narrator's performance?

I am not the biggest fan of Andi Arndt as a narrator because I think her voice is kind of boring, common sounding, lacks character, can be annoying at times.

Do you have any additional comments?

I liked the story from the beginning. It was entertaining.The entire story was fantastic. At the end of the book, I cried from sadness and a minute later I had tears of joy. It brought me back to a time in my life where I felt the same feeling that I was reading about. It evoked true emotion to come out of me and that is a sign of a great story.

characters are amazing. story kept me wanting more. Narration very good. a very very good read.

A very enjoyable read

I throughly enjoyed this book and the day I finished "cake" I went back for "The theory of second best"
I loved the well developed characters,and the sweet story. Two thumbs up!!!!
