Resumen del Editor

On November 22, 1963, three great men died within a few hours of each other: C. S. Lewis, John F. Kennedy, and Aldous Huxley. All three believed, in different ways, that death is not the end of human life. Suppose they were right, and suppose they met after death. How might the conversation go? Peter Kreeft imagines their discussion as a part of The Great Conversation that has been going on for centuries. Does human life have meaning? Is it possible to know about life after death? What if one could prove that Jesus was God? With Kennedy taking the role of a modern humanist, Lewis representing Christian theism and Huxley advocating Eastern pantheism, the dialogue is lively and informative. This new edition of this classic work includes a postscript in which Kreeft describes why and how he wrote what has remained a standard of apologetic literature for a generation. He also adds an outline and index to the book, as well as a never-before-published dialog in which he imagines "A World Without an Easter". Now more than ever, this book offers an animated interaction that involves not only good thinking but good drama.

Great portrayal of faith differences

The premise is that they meet in heaven and have a discussion about the truth of each of the religions they follow. All very respected men. The best part was they were all open minded and really listened. It made me stronger in my own faith after listening to their reasonings.

One of Peter Kreeft’s best books

I have read this book a number of times and when I found it on Audible I purchased it and listened to it immediately. It’s wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in Jesus and Christianity.

Good content read with the world's worst accent

This was a really interesting book, a sort of distillation of many CS Lewis themes into one narrative, with some extra material thrown in for good measure.

The narration however, was terrible! Actually I do feel hesitant to say this because I almost felt an affection for the reader because his accents were so terrible they were almost endearing. He is apparently an American but felt constrained to put on an even more American accent for President Kennedy who ended up sounding more like Bob the tomato. CS Lewis and Aldous Huxley ended up sounding like nothing you can possibly imagine. There were a few words that sounded vaguely British, a couple of words and phrases that sounded slightly Indian British, and then the rest was what an American Alien (i.e., from space) might think English sounded like if he had never heard it spoken before. I left a two-star rating simply because it may be worth your while to get this book just to hear the accents, they are that amazing:) If you have ever heard Cabin Pressure (John Finnemore) and remember Arthur's Australian accent I was reminded of this several times.

Yes!

Peter Kreeft does not disappoint! This was a tremendous apologetic work that I would recommend to anyone looking for an intelligent argument about the divinity of Jesus.

A joy

I loved how it was written. You rarely ever read books that are written in a question and answer style. I learned so much and I’m so thankful for books like this.

Great Kreeft Dialogue

This book is a fun dive into the differences between humanism Christianity and pantheism using JFK, Lewis and Huxley as foils. Narrator does a good job too

Brilliant Conversation

This is a classic, and a work of true Is genius. The world views are lively and well articulated. The dialog format is engaging and brings the views to life. Any person interested in practical philosophy, rather than the purely speculative swort, will appreciate this treatment. The only criticism I can make is of the accents in the performance. The two British accents are a bit too similar, and I lost track of who was speaking a couple of times. Other than that minor criticism, excellent!!

Truly terrible narration

The idea for this trialogue is clever, and the work itself is fine. It reflects Peter Kreeft’s preference for C.S. Lewis’s point of view over Kennedy’s or Huxley’s, as one might expect. Unfortunately, the sample audio only covered the introduction. You cannot guess how terrible the narrator’s attempts at providing accents are. The one he puts on for Lewis is the worst attempt to create some sort of English accent I have ever heard. And, what is he doing to JFK? Surely he knows Kennedy is from Boston? Then why does he sound like a cross between Mitch McConnell and a drunk teenager? You should almost get it just to hear how bad it is.
