perfect narration

this is the story I've been looking for😳❤️‍🔥 I ABSOLUTELY loved Ryker and Camille! I finished it and wanted to read / listen all over again. Beautiful.

Camille + Ryker

This was such a fun and spicy read, and I loved getting to know Ryker and Camille on a more personal level after the snippets in Cal and Lucy’s story. The yearning, the romance, and the way the family and business aspects were layered into the plot were *chefs kiss*. It gave the story more depth than just a straightforward billionaire romance where the two characters dislike each other, in my opinion!

From the beginning, Ryker quickly became a favorite MMC for me. I felt like he was so misunderstood, portrayed as the carefree playboy in the media, but as the story goes on we get to see more of who he is, as someone who wants to be loved and accepted, who carries more weight than people realize. Watching him open up to Camille was one of the most memorable aspects of this book. And Camille! That woman was as stubborn as a bull and had major black cat energy, which I thought was such a nice difference from Ryker’s personality. I especially enjoyed seeing her character change and grow with the vulnerability she places in Ryker, and her self confidence shift at the end.

With that being said, I am not one to enjoy the miscommunication trope, and this book leaned on it a bit more than I would’ve hoped. Combine that with the stubborn streak between these two that lasts through almost 60% of the book, and there were times I found myself frustrated with both characters. Still, the payoff was worth it. The push and pull yearning between them, the forced proximity tension, and the slow burn chemistry kept me hooked. And when things finally broke open between them? Immaculate.

The narration was done so well, also! I loved the dual narration and getting to actually imagine these characters as real people. The voice actors really brought this book to life and I had a lot of fun listening to them. Also, very easily able to listen at 2x speed and still understand what’s happening and get the emotional aspect!

This was a great story with great supporting characters! Love story is the best when you fight for what you want! Don’t give up on love!

This was a good one. I loved the dynamic between Ryker and Camille. Camille was so stubborn throughout 60% of this story. There were moments I wanted to smack the type A right out of her. Ryker is so misunderstood. I’m glad he opened up to Camille so she got a better picture of why he is the way he is now. Camille’s father is one awful human being. I hope he has the day he deserves. I do wish there was a little more from him at the end of the story. I’d like to see how he reacts to his strong independent daughter who was way too good for him. The one thing that annoyed me was the giant miscommunication. If that was discussed earlier on I think things between the main characters would have gone smoother, but at the same time it made the story. I think I just hate the miscommunication microtrope. Overall the two worked well for each other and I was very happy to see some familiar faces again. This story overall was a good enemies to lovers/one night stand story. I’m interested in what’s next with Jude’s story.

As always J F Harding was fantastic. And I always love hearing Vanessa Edwin’s voice in stories. I think they were casted perfectly for this one.

Book #2 Pembroke Hills series

Ryker is deemed to take over his families company but the board is unhappy with him. He slipped up in the media. His father hires a PR company to help turn around Rykers image so the board will back him taking over the company.

Cami is out to get her father’s approval and to get a promotion at his PR company. Spending the summer babysitting an adult man was not how she expected to get it.

These two shared one night together, and both left the night with different interpretations of how it ended. Miscommunication trope. Both hurt so they start off a little bit of enemies. They have great banter. The narration was great. I love these two together.

Overall, this was a fun and easy listen.

Loved Ryker and Camille

I loved reading this book! Listening to it on audio made the book even better! They did such a good job!

Enemies to Lovers, Second Chance Romance 💘

Ryder Davenport (MMC) portrays a rich carefree playboy, whose recent actions made him need a publicist to save his career by his family’s board of directors at Davenport Media.

Camille Vaughn (MFC) is a single 24 year old successful publicist who works for her father’s pr firm. She works harder than anyone else and is more devoted and yet she is consistently passed over for promotions by her father.

These two have history and shared a one night stand shortly after Ryder’s mother passed away and he has very fond memories of their night together and was disheartened by her leaving him alone in the morning, unfortunately that’s not how she remembers their night together.

Loved!

Kat Singleton is just one of those authors that I will read anything that she writes. I so enjoyed this book ( minus the miscommunication trope but that's just me) this was just a fun and spicy time. The narrators did an amazing job and I love that this one was a duet narration! My fav! Definently would recommend.

Kat Singleton has done it again! This was such a fantastic listen. JF Harding and Vanessa Edwin brought the story to life with perfect duet narration. Slow burn tension, delicious miscommunication and just the right amount of spice when it mattered most.

Ryker Davenport 😍

Cami & Ryker’s love story is so adorable. I was on the edge of my seat every time I thought that an interaction would become more. Like a gentleman Ryker refused. I love Cami’s spunk and boss attitude. The narrators were phenomenal. I loved it!!
