Apocalypse Online: The Complete Series is 3000 Pages of LitRPG / Progression madness!

At first everyone thought it was a game....

But aliens have arrived, and they are turning people into fertilizer.

Brad and Sam are gamers. And when they started playing the hot new game Apocalypse Online, they had no idea that the game was a preview of reality! With the help of a benevolent alien AI and nanotechnology, our heroes will have a chance to survive the apocalypse.

They just have to survive, level up, and find other survivors.

Jake is no gamer. But when he finds out aliens have arrived, he'll do anything to protect his little sister, Sam. Even if it means using a system he doesn't understand.

Will they be able to grow strong enough for the second wave, or will they become alien plant food?

Perfect for fans of 'Defiance of the Fall', 'Life in Exile', and 'Apocalypse: Generic System'.

Apocalypse Online is a LitRPG / Progression, post-apocalypse fantasy series filled with action, adventure, aliens and snarky AIs.

I really liked that the main characters grew and overcame their limitations, they found out what they could actually do to help each other and their world.

this was a great series. I love the take on overlaying a system on modern day Earth and also incorporating all the fantasy races. Great listen!

This was a fun game based story. Wouldn’t it be great to have this happen. L🤪L. All the dumbass people would be gone. Almost all. I guess Karen’s are like cockroaches and never die. Bring it on!!! Must read/ listen.

Great story with the perfect amount of nerd info vs other ones that have way to much!

Honestly has made it to my list of favorites. Some of the storyline is predictable however the listen was compelling through and through. 100% recommend!

Action and comedy from beginning to end

It started off decently in the first book. So I decided to purchase whole series. In beginning had decent character backstory, concept of a plot line and some humor. Unfortunately they kept rotating new people in not developing the character but they occasionally speak which caused you wonder why they were there. Then repeatedly saying they were gamers, gamers know how use their abilities and spells in situations to max their DPS or HPS. Finally the redundant storyline kill the cedars, kill the elfs, wait no kill the Pharaohs, and finally killy the borg erm Chuthula.

Redundant storyline

Lots of humor, lots of fan service. Great story with some unexpected twist. Love the interaction between the characters because they are real. Lots of one liners and characters either cringing, laughing, or feeling in the know because they got the cultural references. Much of the dialog and many of the characters I could picture folks I know. I liked that each individuals system/AI has its own personality. I like the fact the author does not spend chapters with the character reflecting on the system/magic/Tao/etc ... its touches on things just enough and moves on. At some spots the combat becomes tedious but not overly much compared to other LitRPG books I have read. If you are wanting a Tolkien type High Lit story ... then move on. I also like the Narrator, he is the only reason I gave this one a chance once I finished Defiance of the Fall.

Great, fun series.

Fun premise but forgot half its own plot points 10 seconds after it brought em up. 3D printers that can print weapons, armor, POTIONS, building mateials... did I mention potions? It says it in the first 2 books yet no one uses a potion until the end of book 2 and its a bad guy. If they are expensive then say that but it would STILL be the first purchase made by almost any person who ever played a game, instead every battle sees needless desths because theres like .5 healers. Its a running gag that the leader/healer keeps forgetting to upgrade his gesr from so old hockey pads... even though he damn near dies ever fght because of that gear but hes upgraded his weapon multiple times. They rushed to get a guild then ignore the use of guild chat over long distances and just let crap snowball that couldve been mitigated or avoided outright.

The idea that young people are leading because they play video games... really? Im almost 50; Ive been gaming most of my life and even when I was a kid there were people older than me MAKING the games. Older people got left out so they could blame dumb decisons on inexperience and youth. Id have stopped reading this at book 2 if I hadnt gotten the anthology and by book 3, it wass a slog. Jake never lived up to the hype of the line that got me to pick this up. If you get frustrated watching people make dumb decisions... avoid this whole series.

What was the point of most of it?
