Resumen del Editor

Why does productivity always come with anxiety? Why do you have random bursts of hyperfocus? Why can't you finish any projects you start? Why can't you get focused on command? Why do you get distracted so easily? Are you just lazy?

Is it possible for people with ADHD to be productive and happy at the same time? Yes you can.

You're not lazy or stupid, you just have ADHD. It's a neurodevelopmental disorder with pros and cons.

You can be both focused and productive without giving up your happiness. You just need to learn to use your brain properly.

Countless professionals have built successful careers, businesses, and projects despite their ADHD diagnosis, and you can too.

ADHD Pro is a deeply personal audiobook that exposes the struggles of having ADHD in a society that revolves around hustle culture and "work-ethic".

After over a dozen interviews with successful professionals, Robert Merki turns this notion on its head by introducing a better strategy to increase and manage your productivity without sacrificing your happiness.

You don't have to live a life of painful "discipline" and "hard work" just to build and complete projects. All you need is a healthy and sustainable strategy, and the desire to understand your own brain.

Short but not bad

This book spends a LOT of time establishing what it is and what it is not. It also spends a lot of time establishing definitions and terminology. I don't have a problem with this inherently but it did seem to take up a majority of the book. I wish there had been more time spent on the back end of the book and the strategies contained therein.

That having been said if you've recently been diagnosed, especially later in life, this book captures very well the experiencing of living with undiagnosed ADHD. Not to mention that, the tools and tips that he puts forward are down to earth and ready for use.

Practical principles, helpful on hyperfocus

As a psychiatrist who works with many clients with ADHD and who is always looking for more ADHD resources, I appreciated Mr. Merki's emphases in a few areas. His discussions of misconceptions about ADHD and bad advice people give was good and one of the greatest strengths up the book was his frequent revisiting of hyperfocus and the problems it creates. Hyperfocus is not fleshed out well in many books and he really sees it for what it is-- something which usually does more harm than good and saps your tile and energy. I also found his discussion of tacit knowledge, binary and non-binary tasks, and "failure mechanisms" for reevaluating plans to be helpful points that are not emphasized in many books.

(Note: I was provided a complementary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I would also note there is some profanity throughout the book just in case that would be a consideration for some readers/listeners.)

Great for any ADHD adult or spouse of an ADHD adult

It is humbling, gut-wrenching and wonderful to get my first ever confirmation that I am not alone.

best ADHD book I've read so far!

I was diagnosed at a young age, and have spent most of my life trying to figure out things for myself. this book understands that and connects with it on a deeper level. I would, and have, recommended it to friends.

Eye opening

this is by far the best book I've read on finding tips to overcome a lot of the struggles that I face with my own ADHD. it has offered real suggestions and is very honest about how difficult some things can truly be.
