I am loving this series!! After reading Claimed by the Orc Emperor, I was so hoping for Kai's story and it did not disappoint! It's a good thing that Nash is a true believer in finding his mate because Kai does not take to falling into a new world very well... and having Nash tell him they're mates... definitely not! I loved the back and forth between Nash and Kai, the tension, but also the inevitable pull of the mate bond between them. I also listened to the audiobook which did such a good job of bringing the story and emotions to life!! This is such a good series and I can't wait to read the next book!!

Kai is one of the most hilariously cute characters I've read. The voice performance is so on point that makes the story even more enjoyable. So happy I have it now in my collection.

So I adore Nash and Kai. Their story is sweet and funny. The narrator did a great job switching between characters.

After Kai’s roommate and best friend, Rainn, doesn’t return from his hiking/camping trip, he sets out to try and find him. Instead, Kai stumbles into this new world and meets his fated mate, Nash. In the human world Kai is completely straight, so why does he feel so drawn to Nash and want him like no straight man does? This is where Kai has his bi-awakening moment, despite trying his darndest to fight his attraction to Nash. I loved how Kai is a total himbo with golden retriever energy, but also has a fighting spirit and is no push over. Nash loves Kai’s strength and inner fire! Nash has always been a believer in fated mates and has been waiting his whole life for his “little mate” to show up.

This story has it all - It has spice, laughter, action, and heart. For a story that is fairly short is not an easy feat. It was well paced and didn’t feel rushed, had strong character development and balanced plot and spice well.

Darren Draper is a new narrator for me, but he did a fantastic job. I loved Kai’s accent. He had me laughing so much. I already loved this book when I read it, but this narration truly brought it to life. I absolutely loved it!

This story was so much fun! I love Kai and Nash. Hearing Kai gradually fall in love with his ogre was so funny! I wasn't ready to leave these two lovable characters and the world of ogres at the end. I definitely need to listen to the other two books!
