Publisher's summary

Narrated in duet by Bridget Bordeaux and Troy Duran

What if the Beast took the girl of his dreams AND the man who was desperate to claim her, and used them to act out his every fantasy...

The witch’s wrath has left me isolated, broken.
A Beast unable to even touch another living soul without ruining them.
My only solace comes from watching the one I’ve fallen in love with from afar. Fleur.
She’s beautiful, spirited, and everything I desire. I can’t give her what she needs, but there’s one in the village who can…
Gabriel is tall, strong, and handsome—all things I once was. As my days grow lonelier, I accept that I need them—both of them.
They’ll act out every dark, twisted fantasy my monstrous form prevents me from participating in.
And with any luck, they’ll grow to enjoy their new prison.
But the closer we become, the more the roses wither and die. The castle is changing. The curse exacts a greater toll each day.
Unless… Is it possible Fleur is meant for more than satiating my most carnal needs?
Could she be the one to break the spell?
Or is it too impossible for anyone to love a Beast?

Beauty, Beast, AND Gaston

The Wrath of Roses- Violet Taylor
Narrated by Troy Duran and Bridget Bordeaux

Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Narration 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧

The emotions this book brought out of me was completely unexpected. We all know the story of Beauty and the Beast and this reimagining is probably as close to the original as you can get yet at the same time there’s the added dynamic of adding Gabriel, the Gaston of this story, added into Fleur (Belle) and the Beast’s relationship. Just like the original, I did NOT like Gabriel. I kept hoping that it would be true to the original that the Beast would end up killing him, I just did not see a redemption arc for him, but I will say the ending honestly surprised me and my reaction to what happened surprised me just as much. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but the ending alone was everything!

Troy and Bridget did a phenomenal job on this narration. Troy is one of my favorites and he had the perfect low growly voice to portray the Beast. And Bridget was perfect to voice Fleur. She always does such an incredible job.

Ohh to be Fleur

Listen.. we all know the original fairy tale, but what a delicious and filthy story Violet Taylor created. Sexy, violent and somewhat fresh story. I was surprised in the best way. Troy and Bridged were AMAZING with their portray of the characters! Troy's deep and distinctive 'beast' voice and Bridge's silky and sensual timber - wonderful combo!

There's no need to describe the plot. Just get comfy and listen to this audiobook, because it will make you feel all kinds of emotions. *wink wink

Well well 🥵

Let me tell you. I don’t usually go for retelling or books loosely based off another story. BUT THIS! I love this book so much. Right off the bat with the spice!

I will be honest, I started out a little rough and took me a couple of chapters to get into, hence the 4 stars. Though I am so happy I stick with it. Violet takes you for ride of emotions both up and down and super spicy.

Troy and Bridget did an amazing job bringing this story alive and making you almost feel like YOU are living in it. I don’t think there could have been a better female narrator to voice Fleur. I absolutely love Bridget and the bad @$$dry she brought to the table.

What a Perfectly Unique Take On Beauty and the Beast!

This audiobook was a perfectly unexpected retelling of Beauty and the Beast. We get Belle, the Beast, and Gaston, and I absolutely have to say that Violet Taylor will be an auto-buy author for me from here on out.

I absolutely devoured this book and cannot wait for more from Violet!

Spicy Beauty & The Beast with a twist

3.5 for the story. I listened to the audiobook and the narrators get all the stars for that performance. It was like watching an adults only version of Beauty and the beast but with the best twists, spicy spice, and a shocking ending. This reimagining brought me so much joy and I’m looking forward to the way this author continues to reimagine some of my favorite tales.

I received a copy of this audio in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderfully Dark and Spicy

The Wrath of Roses, written by Violet Taylor and narrated by Troy Duran and Bridget Bordeaux, is the first book in the Tales So Wicked series. This is my first book by Violet, but she has won me over with her spicy retelling of Beauty and the Beast! THIS is precisely what I am looking for in a retelling. Action, adventure, a touch of suspense, and all the dang spice you could ever want!

This MFM dark and spicy retelling follows Fleur, Gabriel, and the beast himself, Prince Renard. So think, Belle, Gaston, and the Beast. Fleur loves her independence, her books, and pastries. She feels there is nothing keeping her in the village now that her ex-love, Gabriel, has changed into a man’s man and only wants to dominate her in the bedroom and all aspects of her life, and she has no family left. She takes off, not knowing that the Beast has been spying on her and Gabriel and their encounters for a very long time. The Beast, unable to be with a woman without splitting her in two, has a plan involving Fleur and Gabriel. Once captured, both are taken to the castle and forced to perform for the Beast. That sounds horrible, doesn’t it? Yeah, no. It's not. It’s damn hot and spicy. Of course, in any true fairytale, feelings get involved, and curses must be banished!

Violet did a fantastic job bringing these characters to us from such a beloved fairytale. It could have easily flopped, but this one is outstanding!! There were a few moments I had to turn it off and cool down because it was steamy!! Blushing while heading down the highway with a grin plastered to my face.

The narration was fantastic. Troy Duran has this growl in his voice that makes him perfect for this role. He brought these characters to life and made them undeniably sexy. He is welcome to growl in my ear any day. Bridget Bordeaux is phenomenal! I have been a fan of hers through the entire series of ZA books. She has a remarkable range! I adore her.

Spicy retelling

Super hot retelling of Beauty and the Beast. Admittedly, I’ve never seen it and now that I plan to, I might be disappointed! The spice was spicin’, y’all! Not a whole lot of plot but from what I’m told, neither does the original. Prince turns into a beast by a witch, he has needs, kidnaps the girl, her love interest finds her, the beast keeps him too and well, there’s a lot of action. Love Bridgette and Troy. They were perfect for this roll.

Beauty and the Beast reimagining

Beauty and the Beast was and is still today my favorite Disney movie. I got to meet the wonderful Violet Taylor at the 2023 Sinful Signings event. When she told me her book was a reimagining version of Beauty and the Beast, I had to get it. The book has 3 POVs: Fleur (our version of Bell), Renard the Beast, and Gabriel (our version of Gaston). Each protayal of these characters were written so perfection I could not put this book down. That Library scene between Fleur and the Beast was hot as hell. This book was so good, and the audio was also amazing. The narrators did a fantastic job. This was the first time I had heard these two narrators. Troy Duran's narration of the beast making him gravely was perfect. I loved Bridget Bordeaux's narration of Fleur, which brought her to life. If I could read this book over for the first time again, I would.

Holy Cow!

Troy Duran’s voice was made for dark fairy tales! He dominated this book so much as the beast and Gabriel! This was magical! And my sweet Bridget! Your voice is seriously everything! I don’t think anyone but you could have brought Fleur to life! You were spellbinding!!

This story was HOTT!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
