A Dangerous Kind of Love . . .

When Ellie Watt offered herself to her thuggish former lover Javier to save Camden's life, she never imagined the twisted game Javier had planned for her. Trapped by him and his entourage of killers, Ellie is forced to commit a dangerous, heinous crime-or Javier will kill Camden. Now ex-con artist Ellie must find a way to stay ahead of the game . . . before it destroys her and the only man she ever loved.

Camden McQueen can't forget Ellie Watt. Seeking revenge and pursued by the authorities for a crime he didn't commit, the talented tattoo artist does things he never thought himself capable of to save Ellie. As Camden straddles the line between love and retribution, he vows to do everything in his power to get her back. But if Camden unleashes his dark side, will Ellie still love him?

Just when you think it can't get any better than Sins and Needles, Karina Halle will rock your world once again in Shooting Scars. Shooting Scars picks up right after Sins and Needles leaves off, taking you on a whirlwind ride with Ellie, Camden, and Javier into a world filled with danger, excitement, and nail-biting suspense.

Ellie is one badass chick. I love her, even if some of her choices made me mad at her a few times. She is one of those heroines that you won't forget. Camden McQueen stole my heart in Sins and Needles, and in Shooting Scars he owns the lock and key. I am team Camden all the way. We also get to see a darker side of Camden in this novel, but that darker side is motivated by love, making him that much hotter. Then there is Javier. Javier is bad, and not the good kind of bad either. He is also sexy and charming, and no matter how much I wanted to dislike him, I found myself smiling and fanning my face a few times during some scenes in this book.

Shooting Scars takes you deeper into the dangerous world of the drug cartel and is filled with intense passion, danger, drama, heartache, romance, heart-pounding action and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat while turning the pages to see what happens next. The novel grips you and sucks you in from beginning to end and I absolutely loved it. If there is one series I would recommend checking out, then the Artists Trilogy would be it.

This story was a fabulous continuation of the first amazing read. Character development and depth continued beyond expectations and allowed a deeper look into each of the complicated relationships that seemed previously impossible to love or understand. A great adventure that I look forward to continuing in the next book.

Another great read.
