This book was probably the toughest one of the series to read. It's graphic and violent. It's hard to read about stuff like this sometimes when you love someone who went through it. But that being said, I've found it also has helped me heal parts of myself that I didn't know could be healed, and for that I am thankful. Definitely mind the trigger warnings. This one is intense.

Elle has an amazing ability to draw you in to her characters and make you feel as if you know them. This book, this series is so incredibly beautiful and well written. It's characters are deeply flawed, but you fall in love with them anyway. They are all broken, in their own ways, but they are all uniquely beautiful. They love fiercely and unapologetically. They are willing to risk themselves to protect the ones they love - even if they don't always win. I loved everything about this series, and I am so sad that it's over but this will forever be one of my favorite mafia series. I cannot wait for the next gen. I know it's going to be just as amazing as this series was.

Love Grayson Owens! He truly brings Santino to life. It’s truly amazing to listen to. Athena was taken out from under Derek and Kai’s noses. Her step father, Ronan, took her. He wanted to keep her for himself but she escaped the building & was thrown into human trafficking. She was raped and violated more than once. It was brutal. This killed Athena and that’s how Amara was born/created. Amara is now her new name. She has a hidden identity. Santino is the MMC and he sees Amara while she’s dancing on the floor. She told herself she could scare him off.. She kills evil men for a living, but once Santino joins in - they are a match made in heaven. Love how she reunites with Derek and Kai at the end. So sad to see this series end.
