I enjoyed this book! It's crazy to think that stuff like this does happen in real life. I loved that the FMC got her revenge and then some! The main reason I didn't do a full five stars is because of the constant translation RIGHT after the Spanish. (ex: Hola, come estas? Hi, how are you?). I know Spanish, so that annoyed me, but it's understandable why the author did that. I simply did not like it.
The story follows FMC through a traumatic experience, while already dealing with the death of her mother. She then encounters a Ciguapa, which is kind of the same thing as La Llorona. She then starts turning into one herself. The spicy scenes when she's devouring these men are insanely good! Like, they fully deserve what they got!

Luna’s take on it is absolutely diabolical, and I love everything about it! The way she morphed it into an erotic horror from the perspective of a ciguapa.. Such a twisted mastermind! Katrina Medina’s narration brought it to life! The emotions were raw with the pain and anger of the ciguapa. I felt the rage. This is one folklore I wouldn’t reading or listening all over again!

i was really hopeful for 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶. all she wanted was freedom from her current condition & bring her mom back to her home in dominican republic. but what happens to her there was juz unimaginable!! theres def 𝙉𝙊 romance, 𝙉𝙊 hea!! juz loads of raw, unfiletered shmex...but make it gory & horrific!!

with that said... ofc i ate this shhht up!! 𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘢 did a fantastic job in this solo narration!! i was hooked from the jump!! this lore is new to me & if it was told around a campfire/sleepovers, id def be freaked & find myself hard to fall asleep!! hearing this book in audio is the absolute next best thing!!

This story, WOW! Not only is the writing & storyline perfectly executed, and everything I look for in a splatterpunk, but the audio was flawless. Katrina did an amazing job, and gave it everything. I absolutely loved the feminine rage, d3pravity, and just absolute filth. Another incredible book from Luna!

This audio was absolutely 💯 perfection. Katrina did an amazing job in bringing this book to life. She made it feel like you were right there. I craved every scene and she did it perfectly. I definitely recommend listening 🎶 to this audio as soon as you can.

La Ciguapa is a short Splatterpunk, erotic horror; with that being said, make sure you read the trigger warnings before jumping into this one.

Okay, now for the good stuff. - This story was crazy. It was a whole ride and I loved every second of it! Luna K Wicked is so good at throwing such crazy messed up things into her horror books that makes you think “did I really just read what I just read?” Which is one of the best reactions that you need to have when you read these kind of books from these genres! Chapter 10 is the PERFECT example of this!

Katrina PERFECTLY brought Amari and this story to life! Katrina was the perfect match for a narrator for La Ciguapa. You could literally feel all of the feminine rage and seduction pouring out of Amari’s character. Being someone who hasn’t listened to a lot of audiobooks, it was an amazing immersive experience to be able to hear the story come to life while I read along. I loved it.

10/10 recommend. If you’re looking for a story that is messed up, bloody, and spicy (no romance) that is 100% feminine rage - pick up this story, because that is exactly what La Ciguapa is!

I loved la ciguapa since I read the ebook and to listen to the audiobook of this Dominican Horror Folklore it was so good especially chapter 10 thats all I will say cause you need experience this.

I loved the narrator Katrina Medina she did amazing job and I am new fan of hers now.
