Q.B. Tyler
“Lead us not into temptation....”
Dr. Will Montgomery had already given in to his temptations. He’d tasted the forbidden fruit again and again for months. Despite the obstacles in his way, he claimed the beautiful Charlotte Pierce and fell head over heels in love. She was finally his. But a stolen love, a forbidden love, comes at a price. And in the aftermath of their affair, Will finds himself backed into a corner, desperate for an escape from the chaos.
Chaos that threatens to destroy him and reveal the secrets he’d kept hidden. Secrets that may just cost him everything. And if there’s one thing Dr. Will Montgomery should have learned by now, it's that the truth always comes out.
Bittersweet Addiction is the final part of the Bittersweet Duet.

I appreciated that she didn't make it all sunshine and roses, and she gave us a realistic take on the situation. Will's addiction gets hinted at and book one, but we see it in full force with this book. I really love what the author gave us in this book, how she builds up the relationship, helped them grow to know each other on a deeper level, and learned how to truly survive as a couple.
As with the first book, the narration on the audio was amazing! The female narrator truly helped me grasp the emotions of these characters and considering it's a highly emotional book, I appreciated that.
Amazing finish!

I was a little worried how this book would go, it’s always that feeling of knowing a couple is going to go through some things when it’s a duet or trilogy following the same couple. 😅 But I really loved the journey packed into this book for the couple! We get some more background on their characters, Will’s own struggles, how their families and his coworkers react, their pasts, co-dependency, and just a bunch of growth for these characters together! I actually liked this book more than the first one, I loved seeing the growth of their relationship that started off kind of fantasy/lust filled.

The story was clearly rushed with little to NO resolution. Will did 1 week in rehab and he was magically “cured”. Even though he clearly still had the same issues and nothing was figured out. Charlotte (Charlie) is incredibly co-dependent and that is totally okay? Ugh terrible book and what pains me most is that I bought this. Ugh. Terrible terrible terrible storytelling.

This book is a hard one for me to review because I think you have to bring the first book into consideration when rating it. While book one was told 99% from Charlotte's POV, this one is both Will and Charlotte and we get to see a whole new side of Will that I didn't even know existed. It actually didn't seem to fit his character that I had gotten to know through Charlotte in Surrender, at least for me. Yes, he's alpha and has strong feelings for Charley, but it just didn't seem to fit.
As with book one, we still have an abundance of sex between the characters. That's where Charlotte and Will connect. But there's more to a relationship than sex, and theirs is one that is a lot more complicated because of Charlotte's past and also Will's past relationship he has with his family that leads him to finding comfort in things that could ruin his future. I enjoyed that QB Tyler did not make it all happy and roses in the aftermath. She showed the ugly side of their decisions and really took it there. It was a messy and a very bumpy road, but throughout, you could still feel their love for one another.
I have to say that I overall enjoyed Surrender more than Addiction as a whole. These two are a storm brewing and I know that they love one another, but they are also way too dependent on one another. It really doesn't get fixed in this one, but it's actually refreshing to see the darkside of their choices.
I listened to the audio of these books and they were magnificent. Lacy Laurel was especially a standout in her portrayal of Charlotte. She really nailed her emotions and what she was going through. I appreciated that we got more of Alexander Neal in this one and he really gave us Will in all forms. The pretty, the alpha and the ugly. As an audiobook, it was fantastic. As a duet, it was well written, but the characters and their overall arc didn't always sit right with me and I wanted to see a different growth from the pair, but glad they came full circle and got their HEA.
