Excellent
Really loved this book. The author is adept at developing characters. In only a few sentences he can create a truly believable character that you can really like, or really dislike. The main character Mark, aka Matthews, is one of my all time favorite literary characters. He appears in the very first of the book and I fell in love with him immediately.
This book is heavy on military terms and activities. I believe that military personnel or veterans would be the most likely to love it, but I am a 75 year old non military woman and I loved it - so go figure.

I love a good zombie story
This is a great zombie story. The action takes off in Chapter 1 and the story continues at full throttle until the last page.
The banter between the soldiers is absolutely realistic as are the situations they find themselves in.
The narration is excellent and added to the tale.
I recommend this book

as a veteran I love a good story about the zombie apocalypse and the military as a person that's lived in Kansas City I enjoy the background cuz I've been to all those locations. author is pretty talented continue to work on your craft

Slow start but excellent book!
This is an underrated zombie series. It's very well written, the outbreak is believable, and the situations seem plausible. It's written from soldiers' perspectives by a soldier, so military jargon is heavy but authenticate. I would absolutely recommend this series and can't wait for the 3rd book!

In my opinion the location
Glad to see a zombie themed book from my home region makes it interesting given I know most the locations they discussed in the books makes it like your actually there with them in the book!
