Publisher's summary

“You are hunted by the most dangerous animal on the planet.”

Film rights instantly sold before publication–Soon to be a feature film in cinemas or streaming.

Years after the outbreak of a mysterious pandemic, hardly any survivors are left in the quarantined wasteland of North America. Hunger and the menace of man-eaters are nothing compared to the ferals–those who were infected and mutated by the virus. The ferals have an unquenchable need to hunt and kill, and even a single bite will quickly transform human into a rabid beast.

Two survivors, the pregnant Megan and her brother David, leave a deserted colony to seek a safer haven. A huge pack attacks them on the way, and they only manage to escape in the last moment with the help of two hunters. Cassius and Abigail have roamed the wasteland since the Breakdown, and even as they bicker over whether to take in more strays, they realize that there is something strange about the siblings and that the ferals will not rest until they are caught.

The group heads to a riverside colony where Megan can safely give birth to her child. None of them could have predicted the dangers that await them on their journey–or that the ferals might not be the biggest peril.

"Silent Zone manages to blend the best of the zombie genre with characters you care about and wonderful twists. Be careful when you start it, you may not be able to stop!"—Declan Hannigan, writer/actor

Loved It!!

This was a good book. I loved how it tells the story from different points of view. It's a different kind of infected story and I liked that about it. The story was entertaining and kept my attention, even with the few stumbles and mispronunciations of the narrator. The overall rating is 5 stars but the performance only 4 stars due to that. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes zombie/infected type stories.

Travel the Silent Zone

Silent Zone is an entertaining romp through an apocalyptic world, where a virus has transformed most humans (and many animals) into primal savages. Those with the virus mutate into huge and vicious creatures whose sole purpose is to cause harm and spill blood. The two main characters, an older man and a young girl, he has taken under his wing, travel through the wilderness surviving and avoiding both the creatures and other people as much as possible. The man tries to teach the girl his survival skills with luck in some areas and resistance in others. On occasion, they travel with others and even find themselves in human settlements but the man doesn't trust anyone and prefers to stay away from strangers. For the most part his fears are well founded, as groups of humans attract the creatures. The two narrowly escape a number of encounters with humans and the creatures until a final climax battle aboard a city of boats anchored in a river. Overall a fun read.

I listened to the Audible version. Cons are that at times it reads like it might have been written in Japanese and translated into English. The pace and word choices often sound like an Anime cartoon. Aside from mispronouncing words on occasion, the narrator does a good job with the material.

Welcome

This was an excellent, fresh take on the genre. It had likeable, well developed characters. It was expertly performed. I hope we can expect another installment.

GREAT BOOK!

I absolutely loved this book! The story was superb, it kept me entertained and couldn't stop listening! The narrator was perfect for this book and really fit the character. I really hope this becomes a movie because it played out in my head as a perfect one as I listened. I definitely recommend to everyone who loves apocalyptic, dystopian, or creature books!

Action

While it took me some time to get used to the narrator’s voice and how he spoke, it grew on me! I’d actually listen if there was a second book to this. I wish the ferals and alpha could have in the end gained back some semblance of who they once were and could be helped but 🤷🏽‍♀️ … it’s an enjoyable book to listen to. Try it!

Immediately roped in

Really enjoyed it, i'd compare this to The Last of Us, the characters were interesting and the world captured my attention, ***Slight spoilers*** one of my favorite parts is the prospective of the alpha and the thought process behind it, would recommend if you enjoy apocalypse thrillers/horror.

Storytelling masterpiece

This book was very well written. From the character building to the intense action sequences. Absolutely amazing. They should definitely make a movie or a series out of this. Cannot wait for book 2. Great job!

Thrilling story; very enjoyable

I would have liked to have given this book 5 stars, but there were times were I was thinking this could have used a good editor. Meaning, there were parts where there journey could have been more tightly written and not drawn out so much. Other than that, it was a thrilling story.
