Publisher's summary

It's a blindingly hot summer. International visitors surge into Sydney's Darling Harbour. Two-year-old Tommy is sailing his toy boat in the park there with his mother Phoebe. Tommy vanishes into thin air. The following winter, taunting notes written as nursery rhymes begin arriving at his parents' home.

Little Boy Blue, where did you go? Who led you away? Only I know...

The police believe the messages are just a cruel prank. But Phoebe becomes obsessed with tracking down the writer of the rhymes. Her marriage ends up shattering.

When the shocking identity of the writer is discovered, Phoebe's desperate race for the truth has only just begun.

ANNI TAYLOR lives on The Central Coast, north of Sydney, Australia, with her partner and four boys. Her thriller novels include Stranger in the Woods, Birds in Flight and Poison Orchids.

New Author For Me…Will Read Her Others

I am always reticent about trying new authors, but I was not disappointed here. The writing is excellent, introspective, and realistic. I highly recommend.

You’ll feel for this mom

I LOVE long books like this, that totally pull you in. This is a flawed mom who freely admits not paying attention to her kid when he was taken. Even the way she dealt with the fallout was realistic to me. Very cool twists and turns throughout. You know it’s a good book when you look at the time remaining and feel sad when it’s only an hour.

Good Story

This is a good story about childhood friends and how childhood traumas and experiences are often carried into adulthood. Even the least likely person may be harboring secrets that can turn friend's lives upside-down.
The character of Tommy sometimes seems to do things not possible for a 3 year old child to do. Also a few of the character's situations are unresolved at the end of the story.
I was unfamiliar with is author, but I will definitely choose another of her books to listen to.

Plot Twist

It really kept me wondering “who did it” up to the end, and when the guilty person was finally revealed, it was someone unexpected.

Good thriller

A lot of twist and turns towards the second half of the book. Great narration with a lot of emotion, though the manly voices doesn't quite live up to what they should be.

Good read.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I did feel that some things I expected to be explained by the end were not explained. However, overall it was worth my time.
