INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A REESE'S BOOK CLUB PICK

“It’s perfection, every word, every moment. A masterpiece . . . One of the best books I’ve ever read.” —Lisa Jewell, #1 New York Times bestselling author

New York Times bestselling author Gillian McAllister has created a thriller unlike any other in this endlessly clever, twisty story of a mother who must move backward through time to prevent tragedy from striking at the heart of her family.

Can you stop a murder after it’s already happened?

It is midnight on the morning of Halloween, and Jen anxiously waits up for her 18-year-old son, Todd, to return home. But worries about his broken curfew transform into something much more dangerous when Todd finally emerges from the darkness. As Jen watches through the window, she sees her funny, seemingly happy teenage son stab a total stranger.

She doesn’t know who the victim is, or why Todd has committed such a devastating act of violence. All she knows is that her life, and Todd’s, have been shattered.

After her son is taken into custody, Jen falls asleep in despair. But when she wakes up…it is yesterday. The murder has not happened yet—and there may be a chance to stop it. Each morning, when Jen wakes, she is further back in the past, first weeks, then years, before the murder. And Jen realizes that somewhere in the past lies the trigger for Todd’s terrible crime…and it is her mission to find it, and prevent it from taking place.

Both the story of a mother’s love and the sacrifices she will make for her child, and a thriller with a brilliant twist, Wrong Place Wrong Time is a one-of-a-kind novel that begs to be listened to in one sitting.

Interesting Listen

This is a story that requires your full attention. I listen to books while I run thru my daily activities. Sometimes listening with half an ear if the plot allows. Not here. Loved the twist and turns. I stopped to contemplate whole passages, too. Narration was perfect for the story as well, although I listened at 1.3 as I frequently do.

I found the complaints about the three sentences of American Politics so silly. I am always surprised when I see reviewers say they cant recommend a book because a character uses the Lords name in vain, or uses the F word. If that is true to the character then its necessary. What kind of book would you have if all characters said the same sanitized things? I guess its that ignorance that has Book Banning rearing its ugly head again.

Wrong Place Wrong Time

I am a fan of mystery books, but not really science fiction. I listened to the sample and got hooked. Although it does have an element of science fiction to it, it is a mystery which I wanted solved. I was satisfied with the solve and enjoyed the ride! I recommend you listen to Wrong Place Wrong Time. You will be happy you did!

Never missed sleep for a better reason

Wow!! This was truly a tour de force. Such a novel and well thought out plot with interesting characters. I finally had to go to sleep but couldn’t wait to get back to it in the morning. Well played too by the narrator. Totally bravura.

I'm absolutely shattered!!!!! 💯

This book had me on an emotional roller-coaster. I could not stop comparing some of her motherhood guilt to what I experience with my kids. Being a boy mom I often worry about crazy things he could get into, influences beyond my control... ugh I was in my feelings throughout the whole thing.

Well written.
Beautifully narrated.
I recommend this book to everyone!!!!!

Intelligent & Intriguing Time Travel

This book is so smart! I love the idea of going back in time in our own lives. Gillian McAllister does it beautifully. She is really clever! The narrator was a great choice.

AMAZING! This one truly stands out.

I listen to multiple mystery/thriller/crime books per week and this one really does stand above most all others. It’s different, both thought and feel provoking. A must listen.

A stand-alone book that you’d be lucky to read..

This book is a story which you will only come across every once in a while. I would say it is the best book I have read in a few years. A needle-in-a-haystack find. The storyline has a uniqueness, an unpredictability, an honest depiction of our humanity; and it really captured my full attention . It is absolutely well done with no flowery or extended descriptions of things. More importantly, the writers depiction of the relationship between a mother and her son feels sooo genuine. Even just the depiction of parenthood in general, are verbalized in lines of completely relatable truths that I would be ashamed to ever admit as a parent.
This story was really spectacular to me. I highly recommend! And now, I’m in search of a new audiobook that I know will never compare to this one…
