Forbidden Crush!

This is such a good start to the "Wild Texas Hearts" series. It is a stand alone read. I love the characters and the plot is interesting and kind of intriguing. It is a fairly short and quick read/listen. This is the story of Walker and Emmaline. This is an age gap romance between a professor and his student. Such interesting developments in this story. I love Walker and Emmaline. They are blazing hot together.

Veterinarians we are talking and nothing says comfort like bonding over animals. Spending time training on a farm will bring you closer together. I recommend this story. Narration was great!

Covering Plenty of Forbidden Ground

I love how this starts with Dr. Walker Rhodes, DVM spelling out his crush on the nearly minted doctor, Emmaline "Emma" Phillips. Their mutual attraction may be forbidden, but it sure is hot!

This turned out to be a really good palate cleanser. The chemistry was sparking, the angst was mild, the dirty deeds were sizzling, and the setups for the rest of the series were pretty much lined up. I liked getting to know Walker and those he cared about, and I'm looking forward to more of these characters.

I received an author's copy of the audio book that I listened to alongside reading my book. The narrators are Jack Calihan and Isabelle Turner. I've enjoyed listening to Jack several times, and this was no exception. As for Isabelle, it was the first time I think I've listened to her, and I liked her.

Cute into to new series

This was such a cute spicy little introduction to the small ranching town of Wild Heart, Texas. It took a turn that I honestly wasn’t expecting but loved. Walker is the big animal vet and vet professor at the local college in Wild Heart and he’s had a crush of Emmaline since the moment she stepped foot in his class. She’s off limits though, obviously, which she’s his student. But hours after graduation, the switch has flipped and she’s no longer off limits. Until they both get a call Monday morning from the college sending each of them blindly right towards each other making them off limits once again. She needs practical hours to be able to apply for a vet license, and her advisor pulls a personal favor from him to take on an intern for the Summer.

This was a first of Isabel’s and Jack’s narrations that I’ve listened to but I was pleased with their performances. I look forward to hearing more from them in the future!

Vet School meets Grey's

A quick listen and an interesting start to a series. Vet School student into her professor but why wait until she’s “graduated” for anything to happen personally between them. I listened at 1.5x and felt this book had Grey’s Vibes but Vet School version. Introduction to lots of interesting characters and hopefully their books will be entertaining as well. You can see the author setting up some of the relationships. Narrators brought the characters to life. It was an interesting novella and I would listen to the next book to see how things unfold with the characters.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧 Steamy Goodness!

This is an enjoyable and steamy novel written by Deborah Garland, the first in her “Wild Texas Hearts” series. She is a “new to me”, I enjoyed her writing style, the characters and storylines she created are interesting, easy to relate to and connect with and once I started the book, I did not want to put it down, the story captivated me the entire time. Her world building and character development was fantastic, too. Walker Rhodes is a veterinarian and while his practice keeps him busy, he is also a professor teaching a course in veterinary medicine. He has been having some improper thoughts about one of his students, intimate thoughts of what he wants to do with her. Teacher and student relationships were frowned upon, but once she graduates, he plans to have her. He does not do relationships, he just needs to get her out of his system. Emmaline “Emma” Phillips was looking forward to graduating and starting an internship and veterinary career is in horse country, Kentucky. Before she left, she had a steamy tryst with her former professor, which worked out great since neither was looking for a relationship. But when her plans fall through, she winds up staying in Texas, and gets an internship with Dr. Walker Rhodes, her former professor and fling. Will they be able to keep their relationship professional? The author packed a whole lot of story into her novella sized book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Deborah Garland, thank you for this great story, I am looking forward to hear what comes next in this series and checking out more of your books.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Jack Calihan and Isabelle Turner were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life. Their portrayal of each character was spot on, Calihan’s Walker was the perfect swoon worthy alpha cowboy Walker and Turner nailed it as Emma, grasping every side of her personality. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen.

This was a fun and sweet prequel to the Wild Hearts series. I really loved both of these characters, but I do wish the forbidden student/professor aspect was more drawn out. I was surprised at the level of conflict for a novella, it was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.

Even though neither of them knows about it, Emmaline Phillips and Dr. Walker Rhodes are highly attracted to each other, but the fact that she's a student in his Large Animal Medicine and Surgery class is putting a damper on their connection. But it's the last day of class before graduation and everything is about to change. Emma has a desire to secure an internship at Darnell, a prestigious horse-breeding farm in Lexington, Kentucky, but Walker is about to uncover something sinister going down. The love story between these two is spicy and sweet and the story arc of the Tatum Veterinary Clinic and the Renner Ranch is charming! The narration is beautifully done by Jack Calihan and Isabelle Turner. Their dynamic, well-modulated voices flow together seamlessly and inject the right amount of emotion and individuality into each of the characters.

Oh so sexy, Dr. Walker Rhodes, DVM., parttime professor, full time vet, has a couple rules: one no commitments , two no dating his students.
He couldn't wait until Emmaline Phillips graduated from college, he wants to have a few days of fun before she leaves for her internship.
Emmaline is just as interested in Walker. She leaves hIm her phone number on her finals test. wondering if he would call.
Once they connected they are oh so hot and spicy.
Her dream job was in Kentucky at an elite horse racing farm. Walker knew he wouldn't spoil her dreams, but he realized he couldn't live without her.
Jack Calihan is one of my favorite narrators and his dominate, sexy, Walker is so hot! Isabelle Turner narration is perfect as the sexy, sassy Emmaline. she brought out her vulnerable side very well.
