Publisher's summary

The First Calamity failed to put an end to a decade full of conspiracy and betrayal.

Even as the heroes of old return to the front stage as the world's adversary–as was foretold–the way forward is fraught with traps and machinations by those who seek to further their own objectives with no regard to the harm they bring upon the innocents.

Meanwhile, the world is still afflicted by the ticking time bomb in the form of the Curse of Extinction that can extinguish the light of mankind all on its own, independent from even the mighty Calamities. But this seems to do little to unite the people in working together against the incoming crisis.

Still shunned and branded as the Enemy of the World, a lone struggle to gather power and strength continues. A clue the so-called Destroyer had found led him deep into the jungles in the south, into the lands of Panchuria. But waiting for him there were nightmares, created from the hopes of the past.

Enemy of the world 3

I always seem to love op characters. Hey Ben better when it involves enjoyable world creativity, fleshed out characters and entertaining plot. What’s not to love

Ps on the plus side despite there probably being just as much demon/creature whatever it’s called that is extremely agitating to hear spoken as there is in the first book. It doesn’t feel as irritating cause it’s much more spread out and ends quickly. Also factor in that this book is even longer then percentage wise much much less. Just had to add that incase that becomes a deciding factor of choosing to continue. I mean I think Nick Podehl is great and I know the creatures are supposed to sound as awful as he makes them. I don’t know it’s just one of those weird perfect flaws y’a know. I assume if I had read it silently. It wouldn’t take away from the story because you can feel the emotional intent there. Then you got a Narrator that has many talents and Nick reall breaths life into his work that I’ve heard so far. Anyways point is there still is some eek kee kee. (Eh shudder)
Thankfully not so much and not consistent.
Great series it is lit rpg for those who are looking for more and havnt read first two. The take on it is ironically very general yet original. In my opinion ofcourse. Enjoy 😉

Sad

The end of this one was good, yet so terribly sad and left me wanting just a better ending for Largo and her unborn child.

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

heh, Bertelgia shows him the way. Book 3 is the best book of the series Road Warrior has produced yet. The tone of the plot goes from ruthless to savagery to unexpectedly hilarious, when one least expects it. I almost missed this one in the series since I hadn't seen it show up in the New Releases section at the Home page. Seriously, yes, the MC is OP'd to the max but the way he is written, along with his familiar, erm, advisor offering outrageous commentary on his brutality at one moment and complementing on his Master cooking dishes the next is mega-entertaining.

Suggestion to Audible. Provide a checkbox in the review section that allow one to overtly inform Audible they want to be informed when a new title in the series appears. Then, add a section on the Listener's page that lists all new release title of a series that the listener checkmarked. The way it is now, I have to scroll through my Listener Page for reviews where I've rated highly to see if I missed a new release to series I wanted to follow.

Nick Podehl's performance is always good but he reached Master level on this book!

Need more books

The author continues with the amazing story of this brutal world and it’s corruption. This series is one of the very few I actually can listen to more than once. Some older characters return and some new ones enter, more character development, more battles, more schemes, and more WHAM, WHAM, BLAM, BLAM.

Good series

Nick Podehl could read a tax return and it would be amazing, with that said the story itself is also very good. I'm about to listen again!

Ehhh more content, at the expense of substance.

As an avid fan of Manhua and manga ect. and under the assumption that since it was translated by Oppa translations, you can really feel the struggle that alot of Korean manhua authors face.

They just keep adding...and adding...and adding more and more things that "prevent" the MC from doing...ANYTHING that even relates to his "goals". The fun stuff ends about 6 hours in, maybe 8 and the rest is just bland filler about why this and why that with no real story behind any of it. I still have 3 hours left to listen and I won't be finishing it. I loved the first two books because they had substance, I won't be finishing this one nor continuing the series. As always Nick did a fantastic job at narrating.

TLDR: author keeps putting pointless roadblocks to pad out narration times and the story now feels pointless and tedious.

Enemy is my soul spirit

This character the enemy of the world hated by all has my respect. To go on and fight for what you believe in even when all others hate and want to stop you is a mark of a strong character. The antihero who struggles with his own destiny.
