New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Larry Correia sets this gritty urban fantasy, a sequel to Hard Magic and Spellbound, in an alternate noir 1930s. A tough P.I. battles an interdimensional monster that wants to suck magic power out of the world.

Only a handful of people in the world know that mankind's magic comes from a living creature, and it is a refugee from another universe. The Power showed up here in the 1850s because it was running from something. Now it is 1933, and the Power's hiding place has been discovered by a killer. It is a predator that eats magic and leaves destroyed worlds in its wake. Earth is next.

Former private eye Jake Sullivan knows the score. The problem is, hardly anyone believes him. The world's most capable Active, Faye Vierra, could back him up, but she is hiding from forces that think she is too dangerous to live. So Jake has put together a ragtag crew of airship pirates and Grimnoir knights - and set out on a suicide mission to stop the predator before it is too late.

I Love Bronson Pinchot's Narration

The story itself was very satisfying. It fulfilled by expectations. I was very happy with Bronson Pinchot's narration. His variation of dialects and voices really gave life to the characters,

Wow what a great end to the Trilogy!

If you could sum up Warbound in three words, what would they be?

Amazing Airship Magic

What did you like best about this story?

I think the main thing was the action and the characters. Also the twist on magic is cool.

Have you listened to any of Bronson Pinchot’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great characterization. I loved him as Balki and I love it when he reads a book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The very end. Jake and Taru. The warriors honor they display is always moving.

Any additional comments?

To anyone who enjoys a good pulp read this is your series. I highly recommend it. It has great Heroes and Heroines, great characters, and a ton of action. The writer takes a few twists but nothing overly complex. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and the narration. If you are a contemporary fantasy fan, pick this one up.

Helluva end to one helluva trilogy!

The story was original and well written, but the real star of the trilogy was the superb performance by Bronson Pinchot. An audio book's narrator can make or break a story. I'm quite certain I would have enjoyed the book regardless, but Bronson Pinchot's command of the story and excellent voices breathed life into a cast of already brilliant characters.

Surperb all around

Would you consider the audio edition of Warbound to be better than the print version?

YES

What other book might you compare Warbound to and why?

The Lost Gate. They both are just a very good listen. The whole series is wonderful.

What does Bronson Pinchot bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It is hard to explain. I once bought a book just because he read it and I was not disappointed.

Great story, characters irritating.

This trilogy was very fast moving and engrossing. Interesting take on the nature of magic. However, I had a hard time liking the characters, especially Faye, who I thought was pretty one dimensional and hopelessly immature. Bronson Pinchot's narration was very good except for one criticism: all of his southern accents sound the same, and they are all very annoying. I have family from both Texas and Virginia, and none sound as inarticulate as these characters. I especially didn't like Faye's accent, and Jake's wasn't much better. And, wow, can you say obsessed with guns!? I read the author's biography and understand why. All in all, though, a good read (listen?).
