Publisher's summary

Larry Correia, the New York Times best-selling author of the wildly popular Monster Hunter International and Grimnoir Chronicles series of no-holds-barred urban fantasy and the Dead Six trilogy of military adventure novels, now sets his sights on the short story form.

Together for the first time, 14 action-packed tales of demons, monsters, vampires, and cosmic horrors too terrible to name - and the men and women who take them all down. Oh, and toss in an interdimensional insurance salesman for good measure.

You'll also find: An elven princess from the pages of Monster Hunter International on a mission to redeem her people. A samurai pirate with a blood vendetta against an extremely large sea beast. And a magic-wielding PI who walks the mean streets of Detroit.

Journey back to the origins of Monster Hunter International in "Bubba Shackleford's Professional Monster Hunters". Uncover the origin of one of Dead Six's central characters in "Sweothi City". And celebrate the holidays with the Grimnoir Chronicle's own Jake Sullivan in "Detroit Christmas".

the review

the guy acting out the story was fine with stories I hadn't heard or characters i hadn't heard but he sucked in the MHI and Grimoire and really bad in the Tom Stranger. Audible dropped the ball should got the actors that had previously done those characters and stories.

other then that the stories were great really enjoyed them

Great collection of gems

This is a nice collection of Larry's work from across the multiple universes in which he works. I will be listening to Volume 2 next.

I didn't like the narrator.

The narration was flat and lifeless. This is a dramatic change (and not in a good way) from previous Larry Correia audio narrations. I couldn't finish it because the narration was so distracting.

Good times.

Larry writes fun stuff, yet doesn't slack on the details that do many others can't be bothered to get right.
This book is no exception.
Enjoyable from Tonya to Tom.

Not a fan of Tom Stranger

The book was great up to the last entry. I had purchased "The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent" from Audible, when it first was available. I couldn't get passed the first 10 minutes. So, needless to say I was disappointed that the last couple of hours of this volume had the same story.

Short stories.

This was a bunch of different short stories that I wasn’t expecting when I grabbed this title but I was satisfied with the stories I recognized some of the stories and characters and some I knew of the books he was talking about but haven’t read them yet. Overall good stories good listen.

Why switch narrators? Keep Oliver Wyman.

Why do they insist on switching narrators for these books from the same universe consisting of the same characters? It fools with continuity. As an avid fan, I want to hear Oliver Wyman brings these characters to life.

Even if it is someone new, please find someone that knows how to use proper inflections when reading. The narrator here is so monotone that I tuned out and had to speed the book up to almost 1.7 to maintain interest... that's no bueno.

Should be an "Audible Included"

While this was well written and I enjoyed most of the stories ( sadly some of Larry Correia's storylines I've just not been able to connect with.) this reads more as a promotional catalog than anything worth buying. Honestly this should be an "Audible Included" to serve as a promotional for Larry Correia's books. Something he would hand out for free to say "Here check out my writing style I think you'll like my books!" the last few chapters (Tom Stranger) have been promotional and given away for a while now. I enjoyed some of the stories, but I'm returning this PROMO PRODUCT.

This narrator needs to liven it up

I love Larry Correia and he writing. But the person reading the story was horrible. Zero enthusiasm.. Did he lose a bet or something because he CLEARLY had other places he wanted to be.
