Publisher's summary

He's big.
He's dumb.
He's heavily armed.
He's hilarious!

For the first time in one audiobook set, this box set collects Seasons 1-3 of the popular Bubba the Monster Hunter series, from the author of The Black Knight Chronicles and Quincy Harker, Demon Hunter.

Robert "Bubba" Brabham never wanted to hunt monsters. He mostly wanted to drink beer, hunt deer, and chase women, like every other giant redneck in the world. But life interfered, and Bubba found himself holster-deep in the family business: monster hunting.

Now he's the Southeastern Regional Hunter for the Holy Roman Catholic Church, and along with his technical wizard and best friend Skeeter, his Knight Templar liaison Uncle Father Joe (because he's Skeeter's uncle, and he's a priest) and his...girlfriend (?) Agent Amy Hall of DEMON, a shady government agency with a ridiculous name just so it can spell out something cool, Bubba has to save the world from the things that go bump in the night!

Just as soon as he's done with his beer. And maybe after one more lap dance.

Fans of Tucker & Dale versus Evil, Cabin in the Woods, or Ash vs the Evil Dead will love this comedy/horror/urban fantasy collection, with three full collections in one box set!

This collection includes:

  • Scattered, Smothered, & Chunked: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season One
  • Grits, Guns, & Glory: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season Two
  • Wine, Women, & Song: Bubba the Monster Hunter Season Three

fun book series

this is just a fun series. I wish they would have kept the same narrator for the whole series

Hang in there:

First, I want to start by saying I'm not a complicated person and am not the type to look too closely to the depth of a book. I like what I like. Also, I don't leave long winded reviews... until now.
Now to the book, if you want to read this you need to know that it's more like multiple novellas and maybe 3 novels in one, running in chronological order. So when you hear information repeated, you are probably in a novella. You will also need to have a fondness for rednecks or hill folk or the backwoods of some sort or another. If you aren't a hillbilly and/or don't love one you probably won't love Bubba. Coming from a long line of poor but hardworking farmers from North Carolina I enjoyed Bubba throughly. There are a few inconsistencies (an old girlfriend's name being changed or the wrong beastie getting punched) but I was so enthralled with the story I just mentally corrected the error and moved on. There was a change in the narration for Bubba in one story that was pretty distracting but after a chapter or two I was back to being entranced with the story and forgot about it. The cliffhanger ending is something I could do without but the story was also tied up neatly in many ways.
I think you should give Bubba a chance. Its worth looking over the piddly things I mentioned above to get to the world of Bubba and his friends and family. Because what I didn't mention is all the different mythical creatures involved, culture's lore from all over the world, interesting weapon facts, great fight scenes, and real love mixed in with too many other great aspects to count.

Changed Readers

I absolutely loved the books right up until they changed readers. Still a great book but lost interest with the new reader.
Thank goodness the original reader came back. I would recommend this to anyone. It's very funny and entertaining . I will look for more from this author and reader.

Bubba the Monster Hunter

This was a great book. Putting 3 together was genius. I enjoyed it so much that it is going to be a permanent fixture in my audio library.

Come Get Some

I haven't enjoyed a light hearted romp like this in a long time. If you are offended by red necks, beer, trucks, guns, trailer park humor - move along. If instead, you can appreciate the South and all it's uniqueness - give them a listen.
Not deep just funny. Bless your heart if you don't find them funny.

Funny, adventurous, and bit size stories

So great! Ioved every minute of it and went looking for season 4 immediately. Dirty Harry meets Harry Dresden rolled up into a Giant 350 lb good Ole hillbilly. Just right :)

damn good book series

starts off rocky, but then finds it's tempo and easily becomes a really good read/listen very similar to Larry Corea's monster hunter international books. which are also a great series though this series has more humor in it. both are well worth the time / credits spent on them.

good in short bursts

good book/series but can be hard to listen to for hours on end because of the short story writing style. other than that, characters and stories are funny, well developed, and entertaining.
