Publisher's summary

Dani "Mega" O’Malley plays by her own set of rules - and in a world overrun by Dark Fae, her biggest rule is: Do what it takes to survive. Possessing rare talents and the all-powerful Sword of Light, Dani is more than equipped for the task. In fact, she’s one of the few humans who can defend themselves against the Unseelie. But now, amid the pandemonium, her greatest gifts have turned into serious liabilities.

Dani’s ex–best friend, MacKayla Lane, wants her dead, the terrifying Unseelie princes have put a price on her head, and Inspector Jayne, the head of the police force, is after her sword and will stop at nothing to get it. What’s more, people are being mysteriously frozen to death all over the city, encased on the spot in sub-zero, icy tableaux.

When Dublin’s most seductive nightclub gets blanketed in hoarfrost, Dani finds herself at the mercy of Ryodan, the club’s ruthless, immortal owner. He needs her quick wit and exceptional skill to figure out what’s freezing Fae and humans dead in their tracks - and Ryodan will do anything to ensure her compliance.

Dodging bullets, fangs, and fists, Dani must strike treacherous bargains and make desperate alliances to save her beloved Dublin - before everything and everyone in it gets iced.

Heads-up 7-up

What did you love best about Iced?

Very good story. I wasn't sure if i liked it for the first 45 minutes

What other book might you compare Iced to and why?

I do not have a book to compare it to it stands alone for me

Which scene was your favorite?

When all 3 men were helping her

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

the Omega

Any additional comments?

I didn't like the beginning when it was like she was talking to me instead of me being drawn in to their world. But then it got there and i loved it

Great narration

Great narration loved the voices. One of the best audio books I've listened to. Not that I've listen to many audio books but this was great. I read it first and thought it would be fun to listen too.

Dude, "ICED" is Feckin unbelievable!

Any additional comments?

I wasn't looking forward to this one when I had heard it was centered around Dani. But now, it's my favorite one by far! It has many laugh out loud moments. I love the Mac and Barrons story line, but Dani has won me over. If you keep in mind that Mac and Barrons haven't gone anywhere and return in "Burned", which seems to be a problem for some readers, Dude, you'll love "Iced" as well. :)

It was good.

If you could sum up Iced in three words, what would they be?

Frustrating, fun, irritating at times

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The potential of Dani, Dani's point of view.

Which scene was your favorite?

The guys working together to thaw Dani.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Eager For the Next...but

I loved the Highlander series and how it transitioned into the Fever books so I was very happy to read/listen to where KMM would take me next. As in the Fever books I love the addition of Phil Gigante but I was disappointed to see that Natalie Ross was the reader for the female characters again. I do not care for her interpretation of the characters and her accents are a slip, skip and miss most of the time. I usually listen to KMM books over and over because they are well written and when I am going about my day-to-day time seems to fly, unfortunately I do not believe I could block out what frustrates me about NR to fully enjoy a re-read.

Better than the last series

If you read the last series and enjoyed it but weren't sure about continuing, DO IT! This is already 50x better than the last series because it's about Dani who is a way better character than Mac could hope to be. Mac always let things happen to her and was afraid to speak her feelings. Dani does nothing BUT speak her feelings and takes the bull by the horns. She's amazing and I'm kinda hoping we never have to deal with Mac again after this.

Dani doesn't sound Irish

The only beef I have is the performance of Dani, she doesn't sound Irish, almost sounds like she's from Southern USA most of the time.

The WORST "Irish" accents in the entire universe!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I'm still near the beginning of the book, the story seems intriguing. However, I'm uncertain if I can listen to the narrator's criminally bad "Irish" accent...or should I say "accents". Mostly sounds Australian, possibly English with a speech defect, a touch of Scottish inflection (if the narrator had a terrible cold). Anything but actually Irish. Why take a story set in Dublin and have it narrated in a way that bears NO resemblance to anyone in my family? I'm finding it nearly unbearable to listen to because the phony voices keep kicking me out of the story. Going to try to stick it out, but no promises and definitely no recommendation. Was the editor unconscious?

Would you be willing to try another book from Karen Marie Moning? Why or why not?

Only if the narration is done authentically.

Would you be willing to try another one of Phil Gigante and Natalie Ross ’s performances?

NO!
