Great Story

Amazing twists. Love the FMC she is strong and such a fighter. I am anxiously awaiting book 2. I disagree with the negative reviews of the narrator, I thought she was great. If you've read/listened to other Amelia Hutchins books and enjoyed them, you will enjoy this one as well.

seriously LOVED it! I mean, everything Amelia writes is brilliant. so obviously this would be good. but it's so refreshing to have a new world to enjoy! Not to mention the KICK A** cliff hanger ❤️ CANNOT WAIT for book 2! Thanks Amelia for all your amazing work ❤️

Good Story but

I love Amelia and I thought overall the story was good but the narrator...She is fine if just doing a female character but can definitely not do males. And when she does them they all practically sound the same except for the main male character who reminded me of Harmonie Granger...lol which made hard to keep up with the story. Please, please, please, next time can we get a duo.

Finally! FIIINNAAALLLYY!!!!!!!

I loved the FMC. She is EXACTLY what I’ve been missing and craving in my beloved paranormal/SF romance novels. This genre is saturated with full grown women acting like pre-teen fools that are TSTL or have a “Not Like Other Girls” persona. The FMC is everything I craved in a strong, badass, and sexy main character. I loved it. She was a complete bad ass. Some parts were a little corny but I still loved it!

Amelia Hutchins tends to write pretty bad women MCs so I’m pleasantly surprised she got it right! The ONLY issue that literally hurt me beyond belief is the narration. Your choice in narrators can make or break a story. You can write the next Big Hit but if you hire just a reader and not a performer, it can ruin EVERYTHING. I’m not saying Erika Annette was the worst narrator I’ve had the displeasure of hearing (*cough* Laurel Schroeder *cough*), she was just…. bad. Flat. No emotion and her tone was screechy which gave me a headache if the volume wasn’t just right. She pretty much just read the book a little better than what Alexa would have done lol It made it somewhat hard to follow at times and I found myself losing focus or having to turn the volume waaaay down. I didn’t know if someone was angry or a fight scene was happening or a love steamy scene was taking place because she just read the words on the page. When it got to the steamy scenes, it was almost unbearable. Something about her voice just didn’t match the FMC. I really hope book 2 has a different narrator. I’d still buy it because there is a lack of truly adult books in this genre. Other than that, loved this book!

LOVE Anything Amelia narrator was okay

Love the story and and cannot wait for book two. The narrator reading skills were decent with inflections and overall performance but her main character voice just had this whine to it… maybe it’s just her voice. Didn’t ruin the book at all! Loved the story, really liked the ending.

The cliff hanger was outstanding and I cannot wait for book 2. It’s one of the most interesting set of characters I’ve read/heard. The main character is a little whiney but the male main character is very well written.
