Another Big Hit!!!

If you could sum up Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage in three words, what would they be?

Beautiful, Sentimental, Mysterious

What was one of the most memorable moments of Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage?

When Isabella & Mac, remember how each other felt at the loss of their baby, and when Mac reads the letter Isabella had left him the night she left him... So moving.

Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?

I Love the Mackenzie Brothers, but my favourite is still Ian... he does not understand Irony or sarcasm, and I just love how she plays him.
I also like Daniel ( Cameron's Teenage son) he is quite "cheeky"

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I LOVE this series, you will laugh and cry, I really cannot wait for Cameron's story. It was my FAVOURITE .

A LOVE SO STRONG IT HURTS

What made the experience of listening to Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage the most enjoyable?

Many things: The narration was awesome, the story was engaging and exciting. I don't believe there is a woman that would not want to be loved the way Mac loved Isabella, and I am sure most men wish they had it going on like Mac. He is magnificent (after he got over his traumatic childhood issues).

What did you like best about this story?

The Love story. The strength that Isabella exhibited is the kind of strength women claim to have, but very few actually do.

What about Angela Dawe’s performance did you like?

She has the voices down extremely well. The sexy scottish accent, the British accent, the confident/sexy tone she gives Isabella and the no nonsense masculine twist of all the males, gave me goose bumps.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I wanted it to go on... So I tried but failed to strech it out.

Any additional comments?

The love scenes were HOT HOT HOT.

Kinda disappointed......

Loved the first book and the narrator. However, this book seemed to drag on and the narrator's anxiety ridden voice the entire book made for difficult listening. I don't know why she changed so much from the first????

Angela Dawe does a fine job. Ms. Ashley has written a nice book. I can't quite say boring as I was never truly bored. There was no great revelation or surprises. I have to admit it did hold my attention all the same.
This is NOT a highlander story! Worth a credit? I don't know.....

Not as good as book 1 - I’d skip

I found the story very bland relative to the first book. The entire story is about Mac convincing Isabella to give their marriage another try. There was a minor suspense element added with someone impersonating mac but it seemed very contrived. The story dragged because it was very very clear from the get go that both Mac and Isabella were in love and wanted to be together. I can sum up the entire story with this - Mac and Isabella love each other, Isabella is afraid to give their marriage another try because Mac was not the best husband the first time around but she still loves and misses him; Mac convinces her that he’s changed and so they give it another go. The end. I also really didn’t like this narrator.

I found myself just waiting for the tiny bits in which we hear again about Ian and Beth - those were adorable.

Society couple tries to save their marriage

When Lady Isabella Scranton eloped with notorious rake and scandalous artist Lord Mac Mackenzie the night of her come out ball, the ton was shocked and captivated. Their turbulent marriage has been fodder for the gossip rags ever since. Under the weight of their heady passions, including frequent rows and reconciliations, and one heartbreaking and tragic event, their marriage collapses into a formal separation. But three years later, Mac has changed his ways, stopped drinking, and returned to London to try to woo his wife back. Though much has passed between them and Isabella guards her heart fiercely against the man who hurt her so badly in the past, she still has feelings for him and Mac will not let her go so easily...

As a study of a marriage in crisis due to ravages of Mac's alcoholism, this novel shines. The issues Mac and Isabella face as they try to rebuild the trust that has been broken and reshape their marriage according to the people they have grown into are handled delicately and sensitively, and are ultimately quite relatable. Unfortunately, while the complication of someone attempting to assume Mac's identity adds drama to the plot, it rings rather false. In the end, while it provides the impetus for Mac and Isabella to declare their true feelings, it is so melodramatic that rather than adding to the novel, in the end, it actually detracts from the beauty of the the love story central to the plot. The performance quality of the audiobook is quite good. Angela Dawe has a pleasant and expressive voice with an impressive range that allows her to imbue particularly the male characters with the deep, rich timbre consistent with the way they are described in the novel, while still giving female leads the softer, more feminine voices expected for their characters.

Another decadent book.

I'm still in love with the first novel in this series but I have now become engrossed in the whole series.
What more could a girl want? Gruff kilted Scottish Lords and their head strong ladies.
On to the next 😆

Another enjoyable book in this series.

I am really enjoyed this book as well as this series. I was definitely surprised by the mystery added. Angela Dawe really does a wonderful job job at narrating the book.
