Publisher's summary

Conscienceless seducer, cunning spy, confident scoundrel.

Trevor Hunt, the Duke of Ridgely, has been called many things, most of which are true. Reviled by his family, hated by many, he's earned his reputation in the seedy streets of London and more than his fair share of bedchambers. But battling deadly foes and irate husbands failed to prepare the duke for the most troublesome role he's played yet: guardian to one maddening hoyden.

Lady Virtue Walcot has spent most of her life abandoned, ignored, and forgotten. She's used her unfortunate circumstances to her advantage, filling her time with books and knowledge, yearning to build an independent life for herself. When her father's sudden death leaves her the ward of a ruthless former spy, her world is instantly upended.

An innocent ward is a burden Ridgely never asked for, and he'll do everything he can to see the chit wedded and his duties happily ended. There's just one small problem: he can't stop thinking of ways he might put the luscious Lady Virtue's sharp tongue to better use than pointed barbs in his direction. Then there's the matter of the unknown villain who's trying to kill him. Best make that two small problems, one deuced enticing and the other downright dangerous…

From USA Today bestselling author Scarlett Scott comes a deliciously wicked new Regency romance featuring scorching heat between a jaded guardian and his bluestocking ward, plus a delightful dash of mystery.

Whew!! I suggest you listen/read this book only if you have a playful bed partner nearby. 😄

As always, I enjoyed the strength of the heroine, Virtue in Ms. Scott’s stories. I thought the name “Virtue” might be annoying, but it became part of what turned into such an interesting character, although that could have been helped along by the wonderful narrators.

Trevor, our hero followed the usual template, which is what most of us fans love in our dream men.

I was also a bit cautious about the story line, guardian falls in love with his ward. To age myself, that was a typical theme from romances written in the 70’s by Barbara Cartland. As I am an avid fan of Ms. Scott’s work I ignored that hesitation while reading the summary and deciding whether or not to purchase the book ~ and I’m glad I did.

Another Home Run For Scarlett Scott

Having just finished the last Sutton book about Logan Sutton, I was familiar with The Duke of Ridgeley and his ward, Virtue. SS brings their story to life with passion and intrigue. Will Thorne's narration brings you right into the bedroom with him, but Fleur Strange is a miss for Virtue's voice. She sounds like an old woman. Wished Faye Adele or Carman Rose would have narrated the female character.

Excellent narration

I’m a little bit surprised that everyone gave this a five star review. Although the narration is excellent, the story is on the weaker side, notwithstanding an interesting twist at the end. For the most part there were hours internal dialogue lusting going on between the two characters. It was a bit much.

I loved their story.

Everyone is redeemable. And love can happen to anyone. I liked the two speakers, and I truly liked most of the story. I did not like that V lost her fire in the end at the most important scene.

A Wonderful Story.

I did enjoy most of the Story, & I do enjoy reading stamps stories, this Story had a tad too much for me personally.

Virtue & Trevor were wonderful characters.
I look forward to reading Pamela & Theo's Story in the next book in this series.

I did enjoy the narrating of the Story with both William & Fleur were absolutely Wonderful.
