This audio instruction is the best guided yoga nidra instruction I have found. The instruction is clean and clear (following closely the style from the original text by Swami Satyananda Saraswati)and the results are much like awakening from a good massage. There are other nidra tapes available on the internet - I explored several from Amazon and they are rather strange - poorly read/ strange imagery, droning vocals etc. Stick with this one if you want a relaxing, soothing result. Purchase Saraswati's text Yoga Nidra if you need further explanation on the rationale behind the practice.
Skip therapy. Yoga Nidra heals the central nervous system, releasing trauma, and allowing us to release from reactivity. With regular listening just before sleep, and just before getting out of bed, we can become peaceful, balanced, and calm, even when "triggered" by "hot topics" or family members, heavy work stress and more. Finding several good meditations is essential to listening regularly.
The voice in this YN is nice but it lacks music, so I still have favorites that out-rank it. My list in order of recommend:

1. Listening to Xenia is an extremely pleasant and relaxing experience. I have found the narration on most audiobook guided meditations to be boring at best and often distracting, but Xenia's voice is clear and pure.
2. The yoga nidra practice was explained very well and I always end this meditation feeling grounded, peaceful and energized.

I have never done Yoga Nidra Before. And this was so easy and enjoyable.
I listened to yoga Nidra at 1/2 speed on my ipod, because i found that the Author was speaking too fast for me to relax.
Xenia has a pleasant speaking voice on this audiobook meditation.
The first time I tried this was interesting. I even thought I might have experienced getting in touch with my inner self. However, I cannot say that practicing YOGA NIDRA is like feeling refreshed after a night of sleep. I felt a little relaxed afterwards, but nothing special or notable. YOGA NIDRA is very different than most meditations. It is very simple and is mainly about bringing awareness to your whole body. I will keep working with YOGA NIDRA and see what happens.

Hard to think of it as a book. It is a guided exercise or experience. Her voice is soothing--she does explain the discipline before the first experience--and there are two experiences to choose from.
I've used other on-line guides and so far hers is my favorite.

like both session but the second is my favorite. Makes it easy to meditate for those like myself who have trouble keeping the mind focused on nothing.

I have read widely about Yoga Nidra, but the guided meditation supplied with this book is one of the best I have ever experienced. After experiencing the waking sleep you will be addicted to the feeling of being refreshed and ready to take on the challenges of the day.
