Publisher's summary

Birdie Wilder and Liam Miller haven’t spoken in 10 years—but that’s all about to change.

Tall and chubby 16-year-old Birdie Wilder thought she and her best friend Liam Miller were always meant to be more than friends. But after he harshly dashes her dreams of any romantic relationship between them, their friendship ends, and they find themselves at odds.

Ten years later, Birdie is a famous rock star traveling the world and proving that plus-size women can rock with the best of them. Size never equals talent, and her adoring fans love her…maybe a little too much. When a stalker begins to threaten her safety, the label hires her a personal bodyguard. A bodyguard who just happens to be the subject of her hit songs and the face of her teenage rejection, Liam Miller.

Recently recovered from a horrible accident in the line of duty, Liam Miller is Birdie Wilder’s new bodyguard. Practically forced to take the job by his friend and roommate Ben, who also happens to be a friend of Birdie’s, Liam tries to make the best of his new predicament. Though he’s spent the last 10 years avoiding Birdie, it’s time to face the music.

Now reunited, the once teenage best friends must overcome their differences and repair everything that’s broken, while dealing with the increasing threat of Birdie’s stalker—which is only complicated further by their growing sexual tension.

Will Birdie and Liam be able to mend their hearts and move forward?

Or will the past be too much to handle?

Note & TW: This is a standalone novel with a HEA. Mentions of fatphobia, body image, kidnapping, and stalking.

Great story…. But the worst narration I have heard on this app.

I really liked the characters and was engaged in their story, but the narrators sounded like they were AI generated.

Good story but narration is meh.

I liked the story. But both narration performances sounded robotic, though the male was worse. Sort of loses some of the spice effect when it’s by the style of voice that gives directions on the GPS.

story good, narration bad...

I personally like the story, but the narration was horrible, it sounded like a computer. I actually adjusted the speed of the reading to 1.10 and it helped it alot and made it able for me to finish and I'm glad I did. I like the ending the story overall was cute and decently passed in my opinion!

I FELL IN LOVE ALL OVER AGAIN

I read I like you Like that last year and this book really changed me. Birdie being this character that was written by Kayla that just blew me away page after page. Her beauty, confidence, determination to not be shamed by Liam or the world just had me in awe. I was so incredibly excited to finally see that this great book was going to be on audio. I felt things so much more while listening. I laughed and cried. The nareators did a fantastic job. The male narrator and that growl jeezus. So so good cannot wait for her next book!

Narration Ruined It For Me

I love a good plus size romance, but the narration absolutely ruined it for me. it almost sounded like an AI narrating. I had to double check like 3 times that they were real people. It was so robotic I would lose focus on the story.

Story was great.. narration horrible

I loved the story. It was had a plus size heroine, and a good plot. The narrators were both a disappointment.

Fantastic plus size rep!

Loved the story—I’m a huge fan of bodyguard romances, and the plus size rep was so well done. My only complaint is the the two narrators voiced one character COMPLETELY differently and that was distracting. But I also am officially an audiobook snob, so it might not bother a casual listener. And full disclosure: I also listened on 3x speed (my go-to speed). On 1x it would have been unbearably slow.

Alllll the feels!

Alllllll the feels and loved the narrated voices, really brought Birdie and Liam to life! ..If you have ever not felt good enough because of your weight, but learned to love yourself no matter what, Birdie will be your new best friend! I could relate to a lot of what Birdie went through as a teen, which helped me connect with the character so much. As an adult, Birdie became a confident and successful women regardless of her dress size. Now, moving on to her relationship with Liam, you’re going to love the sarcastic banter and love these two characters so much! Get ready for a journey of self love, acceptance and finding out that true love doesn’t have anything to do with size, but everything to do with being each other’s best friend.

story is ok; narration is terrible.

I found Birdie to be selfish and self-absorbed. Liam is way too forgiving, and I couldn't believe his feelings were not validated. It's fine for Birdie to have had a crush on him, but to put the blame on Jim for her expectations is just selfish.
