Publisher's summary

Zanders: Chicago hockey isn't complete without me—everyone's favorite player to hate. I know my role, and I play it well. In fact, I thoroughly enjoy spending the majority of my game time in the penalty box before leaving the arena with a new girl on my arm each night.

What I don't like is the new flight attendant on our team's private plane. She works for me, not the other way around. But I'll be sure to remind her of that, and I can guarantee, by the end of the season, she'll be begging to quit her job.

But every road trip blurs the lines, and I can't quite figure out if I keep pushing that flight attendant call button in order to push her buttons or if it's more than that.

Stevie: I've been a flight attendant for years. I thought I'd see it all, but when my new job lands me onboard working for the most egotistical and self-righteous diva in the NHL, I start to second guess everything. Including the promise I made to myself of never hooking up with an athlete again . . . no matter how annoyingly tempting he may be.

Zanders is unfiltered, unapologetic, and too attractive for his own good. He loves his image, but I hate everything about it.

Everything but him.

Contains mature themes.

Male narrator is hard to listen to

The male narrator sounds like an older gentleman maybe in his 50s, it was very difficult and awkward to listen to at times. I understand they are POC but this man was obviously not in his 20s and overall had a very poor performance. The inflection in certain times was weird and creepy

Well, This was really good.

Originally I thought that this was just long; 16 hours. I enjoyed all of it. Contrary to folk who do not like the narrators I enjoyed them. They sound like African American characters.

Too Long but a Good Hockey Romance

The beginning of Mile High was okay. Zanders was a bit annoying, but he grew on me. I liked Stevie. What I didn’t like was all of the fat shaming that occurred throughout the book. The book was too long, and I was bored for about a fourth of the book. Zanders was an idiot during the 3rd act break up, but the end ending was really good.

Loved the story

This was a great love story with some spicy. I really enjoyed the story and the characters in the book. I audio was not the best but I moved past that once I started listening.

Loved the book

The plot was great and I loved the growth in the characters! The male narrator was tough to listen to and pulled me out of the story

Narration was a bit choppy, but I hate the ageism in the other reviews

I will say that the narration needs work here. The wording is choppy, and I had to patch together what the actual words on the page might have been. I don’t feel like the narrators got the right mood on certain lines.

That was a good story that I would still enjoy reading myself.

Other than that, I don’t feel like it was an age issue, and I am terribly disappointed in the other reviews being so ageist.

HOOKED

Can’t wait for the next installment!. I identified with each character’s inner and outer battles and loved how the Author created space for healing and turning those perceived weaknesses into strengths

Beautiful slow burn

I love a good slow burn novel but this has been the best I’ve read in a while. Great characters, great banter, never too exhausted with the main characters. I love how Stevie is so confident in herself and never lets the idea of a (rich and famous) man take away from her being. Did repeat itself a bit but even that wasn’t too much

Good Story

I have to agree with some of the other reviews: the story was a big long and at times felt drawn out. However, I really enjoyed the chemistry and banter between Stevie and Zander and loved the side characters, which I'm excited to dive into next. Narration wasn't bad but IMO didn't bring to story to life. I was a bit excited to see the others in the series are narrated by didnt narrators.
