Publisher's summary

For fans of Lisa Unger and Shalini Boland comes a propulsive short thriller about a mysterious attack and a young woman who must uncover the truth to protect herself.

Marti Greenwood has just moved into a brand-new home after a bitter divorce from her husband Emery, and while she’s still not quite done with him - of course, some of her most cherished possessions are nowhere to be found once she unpacks her things - a fresh start in a beautiful LA neighborhood is exactly what she needs.

But days after her arrival, Marti is attacked in her home. She's found shaken and beaten, and her neighbors who immediately call the police. She never saw the face of her attacker, and so there is little to go on as detectives open an investigation - but Marti will do whatever it takes to find her assailant.

Predictable but good nonetheless

Narrator definitely had a great grasp of the story and voice. Tried but true formula.

Loved the narrator!

This narrator is perfect! Does all the voice changes so well that there is no doubt who is speaking. Even with the seriousness of getting attacked in your own home, the character is funny and the narrator does an awesome job of doing the voice of what the character is thinking. The “all beef asterisk hotdog” is hilarious. Would definitely listen to this narrator again and search out this author.

Sophmoric

Struggled to finish. Sounded like a 14 year old girl wrote this book. Did not care for the narrator as well.

Great short listen!

Narration was excellent. Kept me listening to the very end to see how it ends. Perfect for when you aren’t in for 15 hours of listening.

Fantastic

Rachel writes in such a way that takes you into the scenes with all your senses. The hair on the back on my neck was raised and I held breath. She always keeps you guessing. Loved it.

Disappointing ending

This story was good but the ending had great potential that was not developed. Still worth a listen.

The ending!

About half of the way through I almost stopped listening because I couldn’t take any more of the whining. So glad I stuck it out. The ending was unexpected and awesome!
