Publisher's summary

Victoria Barnett has it all: a great career as a nurse practitioner, a handsome and loving husband, a beautiful home in the suburbs, and a plan to fill it with children. Life is perfect—or so it seems. Then she’s in a terrible accident...and everything falls apart. Now Victoria is unable to walk. She can’t feed or dress herself. She can’t even speak. She is confined to the top floor of her house with 24-hour care.

Sylvia Robinson is hired by Victoria’s husband to help care for her. But it turns out Victoria isn’t as impaired as Sylvia was led to believe. There’s a story Victoria desperately wants to tell...if only she could get the words out. Then Sylvia discovers Victoria’s diary hidden away in a drawer. And what’s inside is shocking.

So many twists

This story will keep you on your toes. You'll think you have it figured out then it'll get take a twist and have you going back and forth until the very end.

Not as good as her others

I have read other books by this author, and found this one to be similar enough that it was slightly predictable. I kind of forced my way through it and didn’t really get hooked in until around chapter 40 when the twist and turns began. It was a good enough book to read, and if you’ve never read a book by this author, you will probably like it. As the narrator plays one of the main characters, I found myself getting annoyed with her voice, but in hindsight, she was actually doing justice to the character. Anyway, it’s a decent enough story, but if you tend to like smart realistic characters, there are a few of the females in this book that will probably annoy you because of the dumb decisions that they make, even though their subconscious is telling them otherwise.

Narration difficult to listen to

I almost couldn’t listen to the book because of the narration. I tried to return the book for that reason but couldn’t so I plowed through. Story was good.

Best thriller of the year!

Easily in my top 5 favorite books ever! Highly recommended! If you like Verity by Colleen Hoover or The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose - you will LOVE this one! So many great twists & turns!

Didn’t see that coming!

I loved this read. Never saw the next event coming. Several “no way” moments. Once I thought I had it figured out, nope!

Good story whiny narration

This was a decent listen. The whiny narration was off putting but the plot made up for it.

Last twist unnecessary

Interesting story, I agree that the narrators voice for Victorias part was annoying. Plenty of twists and turns no need for epilogue portion

Not the best Freida

The storyline isn't bad but I found it very hard to listen to the narrator especially when she spoke as Victoria. Very insipid character. Rather annoying to listen to.
