During his more than 30 years as a vascular surgeon, Richard Furman literally held clogged arteries and diseased hearts in his hands and wondered why the person lying on the table hadn't been more careful. Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women in America, and in most cases it is completely preventable. So why are we slowly destroying our bodies and killing ourselves? And what can we do to turn it around? The good news is, simple, sustainable lifestyle changes can mean the difference between health and infirmity, between life and death. Putting his three decades of experience and education to work, Dr. Furman gives readers the strategies they need to live not just longer, but younger.

What a fabulous book easy to listen to I'm going to listen again and this time take some notes my brother in law did what doctor said and in 19 days lost 16 pounds lowered his resting heart rate from 79 to 70:) it's not necessarily a weight loss book obviously however if you need to lose weight working on getting yourself heart-healthy will do that for you as well:)
This books gives you the FACTS, the HOW to "correct our self," and the WHY we should start today. I have lost six pounds in 2 weeks, this book gives you the motivation.
