Publisher's summary

Strength dwindles as the Talbot tribe make their trek into the Darien Gap, 60 miles of broken highway and inhospitable terrain through the sweltering Central American wilderness. Stinging from their recent losses, the group is forced to sleep suspended in trees to avoid the hordes thriving there, but that brings only a temporary, miserable reprieve.

Pursued by the relentless Brazilian Army, they become entangled at the mercy of yet another military faction. Alliances are few and far between but making it on their own, constantly menaced by both men and monsters makes advancement toward home increasingly unlikely.

Of course, any human diversion puts the Zombie races at an advantage, and their physical and mental evolutions provide an unending stream of terror. If only the Americans could recruit a gutsy new company to fight alongside them...perhaps an unlikely force, noble, brave, and...shipwrecked?

Follow the Squad on their trek homeward as they fight their way through the perilous jungle gauntlet.

Another amazing ride

Hysterical, action packed, exciting and reunion with characters that are like family. Sarcasm at its finest. Sean Runette has the perfect voice. I’m going to start it over right now to experience it all over again. Thank you Mark Tufo for sharing your genius. Thank Tracy for me too because where would we be without her.

Good listen mostly

As always, sean runnette is amazing, the story was good not great. Definitely worth the audible credit but a little predictable. I am glad there was less of the Azile story line.

Great book!

Awesome book. Sean Runnette IS Michael Talbot and does an incredible job narrating this book. It is perfectly written by Mark Tufo and if you are a fan of the Zombie genre, you will love this series. Definitely worth the credit, even with a slight glitch in the digital file. My only issue is most authors do not write fast enough. If I can listen to a book in a day or two, he should be able to knock these out in a couple of days :D

chapter 7 skips to chapter 8?

I think there is an issue with the audiobook when chapter 7 starts it says it is chapter 8

The Reasons I Love Michael Talbot

Really interested to see what becomes of this alternative reality Mike. What happens to twist him into the anger we see in this book. The tease of Trips past at the end makes me hope we'll see more of him in the near future. Also are we sure Mike is not Ta'veren... I mean could he be the first incarnation of the Dragon? I win again Lews Therin. FlickerFlickerFlickerFlicker...

It's Mark Tufo and Sean Runnette. What more do you need?

I really enjoyed this book! I always enjoy Mark's works and have yet to be disappointed, which says a lot. His books make me happy, sad and angry. You feel deeply for the characters and his way of writing is absolutely irresistible to me. I love how I can relate to many of the characters. I love the depth of storyline and the depth of the characters. Sean, as always, brings words to life. I always see a movie running in my head when he narrates something. Thank you, Mark for writing this, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next one! Thank you, Sean, for being awesome as always!

BT

The characters BT and Mike so unique. The characters that surround these two are so much fun and to listen to them is so much fun. I have followed these characters from the very first novel. These stories have continued to keep the theme going, I do miss Trip, a person that is a “stoner”. The humor of these stories can be called gallows humor, for me these are so much fun to listen to. I keep looking for more stories with these characters and this author.

Mark, you’ve done it again!

Another fantastic installment. One that even brings in other titles. Can’t wait to get more.

Great, of course. but......

I love the story, but I also want to know and understand why this is happening. For whatever reason, Mr. Tufo is not going into depth about why all of this is happening and what is happening behind the scenes.
