Publisher's summary

The number one New York Times best-selling author of life-changing fiction brings her signature “emotional, heart-tugging” (Woman’s World) prose to this wise and worldly novel of forgiveness and hope in the City of Lights.

In Indiana, Ashley Baxter Blake and her husband are about to take an anniversary trip to Paris, but she is hesitant. More than two decades ago, she made her most grievous mistake in that same city. She has never forgiven herself for what happened there, and she still harbors secrets that she’s afraid will come to light. Just before the trip, Ashley gets a call from her niece. Jessie explains that her French boyfriend’s mother remembers working at a bakery with an American named Ashley. “Could that be you?”

When Alice and Ashley meet, a flood of memories comes for both women, taking Ashley back to a reckless affair and an unexpected pregnancy and Alice to the night she nearly ended it all. Can this reunion bring healing and closure? Maybe it is finally time for Ashley to forgive herself...and Paris.

Change of narrator

Change The narrator after 40 some books is always sad - you’ve grown acquainted with the characters voices - why change now?!

Great book

I have read all of Karen’s books with the exception of a few on Audible. I love the Baxter’s. I rated the performance lower as I felt Ashley’s voice was too cold like in most cases. Most of the time if the narrators voice is not to my liking. I was able to enjoy this book though.

Again! She does it again!

I love all of Karen Kingsbury books and this one is no different! So much detail, wonderful story line and display of God's hand in so many peoples' lives.
The new narrator was a bit of a adjustment but I di get used to it and she did a good job.

A book about Forgiving Ourselves

Karen Kingsbury hits it out of the park AGAIN with this book about forgiving ourselves. The narrators were great, as per usual for Karen's audiobooks.
I hope you can you tell Karen Kingsbury is my most favorite author. Every time a new book of hers comes out it is a MUST read (or listen) for me!

Wonderful

This book is beautifully written. I did not care for the narrators _ they are not the ones normally used to read your books. I was hoping to read about Coke meeting his half-sister _ maybe another book we will hear of this happening. I loved Friend’s Ashley re-connected with. These were sad but beautiful stories. Very surprised Jean-Luc would want to kill Ashley and others because of them being pregnant. So glad the assassin did not get to Ashley and was arrested. I loved the angels in this story. I truly believe in them. The story was amazing and deserved the 5 star rating. I love your books so very much Ms. Kingsbury. Keep writing! Love the Lord always. God bless you!

Great message!

Loved the message but not the narrators voice. It sounded like she wanted to cry. Every sentence she read was read sadly. I found it a little irritating.

Excellent story!

Loved the story but did not care for the female voice and the attempt at Landon's voice. The gentleman who did the reading was excellent as always as in previous books. Great story Karen !!!
