Publisher's summary

The California sunshine’s not quite so bright for three sisters who get dumped in the same week....

Finola, a popular LA morning-show host, is famously upbeat until she’s blindsided on live TV by the news that her husband is sleeping with a young pop sensation who has set their affair to music. While avoiding the tabloids and pretending she’s just fine, she’s crumbling inside, desperate for him to come to his senses and for life to go back to normal.

Zennie’s breakup is no big loss. Although the world insists she pair up, she’d rather be surfing. So agreeing to be the surrogate for her best friend is a no-brainer - after all, she has an available womb and no other attachments to worry about. Except...when everyone else, including her big sister, thinks she’s making a huge mistake, being pregnant is a lot lonelier - and more complicated - than she imagined.

Never the tallest, thinnest, or prettiest sister, Ali is used to being overlooked, but when her fiancé sends his disapproving brother to call off the wedding, it’s a new low. And yet Daniel continues to turn up “for support”, making Ali wonder if maybe - for once - someone sees her in a way no one ever has.

But side by side by side, these sisters will start over and rebuild their lives with all the affection, charm, and laugh-out-loud humor that is classic Susan Mallery.

And don’t miss the newest heartfelt tale of friendship and sisterhood from Susan Mallery, The Stepsisters!

A different aspect

I am a Susan Mallery fan. I have waited for some of the books that had a slow beginning. This book started good and characters become more human with each passing moment. This is a fun piece to listen to.

Great book!

This book will keep you on you toes with the twists and turns of the lives of 3 sisters. The learning to believe in yourself and grow. The love and compassion for others. Learning love can hurt yet, you can overcome. I highly recommend this book. Characters are believable and circumstances could be real. Enjoy!!!

Good story-bad narration

Good story line that kept me interested. It’s the only thing that got me past the choppy, computer like narration.

Fun story

Fun story and characters -4 stars because the narrator has some odd inflections; the use of the word -to- kind of ruins the flow, but otherwise was very good

Engaging storyline, Disengaging audio reader

The story line was engaging and interesting. The performance of the reader made the book difficult to listen to - the cadence of her voice sounded robotic and monotonous at times...with little inflection or differentiation between characters and points of view. I wish I had read this in hardcopy - I think it would have been more enjoyable.

Speed Reader Entry

The story was wonderful. The three sisters and the details of what their turmoil's were. The only think that was a little frustrating was the speed the reader went at. It was as if we were doing a marathon through the book. I often had to turn it down just to relax and enjoy the book.

INTERESTING

The characters relations between mother and daughters were a bit much for my taste. they seemed to be a bit unrealistic.
