Publisher's summary

"A great book to finish off your summer reading." (Debbie Macomber, number one New York Times best-selling author)

Some families we’re born into
Some we find for ourselves

When Serenity Alston swabbed her cheek for a genetic test, she joked about uncovering some dark ancestral scandal. The last thing she expected was to discover two half sisters she didn’t know existed. Suddenly, everything about her loving family is drawn into question. And meeting these newfound sisters might be the only way to get answers.

The women decide to dig into the mystery together at Serenity’s family cabin in Lake Tahoe. With Reagan navigating romantic politics at work and Lorelei staring down the collapse of her marriage, all three women are converging at a crossroads in their lives. Before the summer is over, they’ll have to confront the past and determine how to move forward when everything they previously thought to be true was a lie. But any future is easier to face with family by your side.

"This heartwarming story of sisters who bond as adults is sure to please...those who enjoy books by Susan Mallery and Debbie Macomber." (Library Journal)

Unexpected Ending

Great summer read! Author kept me engaged. The narrator performed wonderfully!

Not my usual type of book, so it was a refreshing choice. Wasn’t love sick or sexually charged and graphic. Nothing gratuitous. I really appreciated that. Recommend this so a reader who enjoys a story laced with provocative thought points, like how to be hurt, but not want revenge.

Didn't need to be this long

This book was long for no reason. The mystery of it all was difficult to stay interested in with so much unnecessary detail. It was nice to have answers to the main characters loves moving forward.

Good read

This book captured my interest with it's well- developed plot and characters. The writer conveyed the emotions of the women in a realistic and empathetic way as they explored their relationships and how they became sisters.

Interesting story

The story is interesting, the book has a great start and even good except a few last chapters, author spent lots of details on earlier chapter but rush to end the story. All men treated unfairly that’s a negative point of the book otherwise I recommend this book.

Great Read

One Perfect Summer was another great read by Brenda Novak. Serenity didn’t expect to discover a dark secret when she swabbed her cheek for 23andMe. But she discovered two half sisters that she never knew existed. She starts to question everything about her family. The three sisters decide to spend time together at Serenity’s family cabin in Lake Tahoe. Serenity, Reagan and Lorelei are all facing difficulties in their lives and meeting each other may be what each woman needs at the moment. I really enjoyed reading about these three women who are finding themselves while getting to know each other. I can’t wait to read more by Brenda Novak.

Not my favorite

It was a light read. Full of information that wasn’t needed to tell the story. It was a fine story. I wouldn’t recommend it. I sometimes like a light read. I just felt this was not a strong storyline.

Very warm story!

*3.75* I really enjoyed the evolution of the bond between the sisters in this novel. I enjoyed as they each conquered their different personal struggles individually and together. The backdrop of the story and scenery was absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. I am looking forward to reading more from this author!
