USA Today Bestseller

“Fall in love with Jill Shalvis! She’s my go-to read for humor and heart.”— Susan Mallery, New York Times bestselling author

Beloved New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis begins a new series—Sunrise Cove—set near beautiful Lake Tahoe, with a heartwarming story of found family and love.

During the snowstorm of the century Levi Cutler is stranded on a ski lift with a beautiful stranger named Jane. After strong winds hurl the gondola in front of them into the ground, Levi calls his parents to prepare them for the worst…but can’t bring himself to say goodbye. Instead, wanting to fulfill his mother’s lifelong wish, he impulsively tells her he’s happily settled and Jane is his girlfriend—right before his phone dies.

But Levi and Jane do not.

Now Levi’s family is desperate to meet “The One.” Though Jane agrees to be his pretend girlfriend for just one dinner, she’s nervous. After a traumatic childhood, Jane isn’t sure she knows how to be around a tight-knit family that cherishes one another. She’s terrified, and a little jealous. But an unexpected series of events and a host of new friends soon show Jane that perhaps this is the life she was always meant to have.

As Jane and Levi spend more time together, pretend feelings quickly turn into real ones. Now all Jane has to do is admit to herself she can’t live without the man she’s fallen in love with and the family she has always dreamed of.

Another fabulous story

Another fabulous series of characters from Jill Shalvis. I was captured from the beginning with the main characters and then all of the side characters as well. The narration was spot on and so easy to listen to…absolutely loved. Can’t wait for more in the series.

beautiful story but....

Truly loved this story , but so much left undone, not sure if there is another book , but ending jumps 5 yrs and end 30seconds later , IMO a couple more pages with a brief update would have been nice

Romantic, quirky, touching… excellent!

Have you read anything by Jill Shalvis, because she is great! “The Family You Make” is the story of Levi and Jane. They meet when they are stranded together in a broken ski gondola during a terrible snowstorm in Lake Tahoe. While calling his mother, Levi impulsively tells her that Jane’s his girlfriend, thinking that they may not survive. Of course, they do survive, but many other situations ensue… This is such a good story, with storylines about grief, family estrangement, chosen family, and how adult romantic love really happens. I love reading works by Jill Shalvis and listening to them on audio is even more fun. Five stars from me!

A fave author narrator combo!

What a fantastic book! I always love everything I read from Jill Shalvis, but this one was especially excellent - during winter, a really different meet-cute (terror for your life in a surprise snow storm on a ski gondola??), to an accidental fake relationship, to becoming enamored and joining a larger family when she doesn't have one to start with, and allowing herself to become open to whatever may come.

I loved experiencing Levi and Jane's story and going through their emotions with them, and all narrated by my very top fave, Erin Mallon - I will pick up absolutely anything with her name attached!

Great story!

As usual Jill Shalvis does not disappoint.
Her characters are always so great and convincing. They could very well be someone you know.
I’m a sucker for a love story with a happy ending.

Engaging characters!

I bought into the stories of these main characters this seems like people that I was gradually getting to know, and who’s life I became invested in. I wanted to finish the book and know what happened to them, so yes, I found myself reading (listening) for several hours straight so that I could hear the whole thing. The characters had logical flaws that made them seem so much more relatable. Enjoyable storylines, And a good narrator, make for a wonderful, engaging, read,

Nice story, horrible narration

Classic Jill Shalvis story, always enjoyable, but the narration is really painful. The voice/reading style/pronunciation is very robotic..not at all read in a natural speaking voice. Very disappointing.
