a very rich and lovely story

This is a very long story and should not be read unless one is willing to put in the time. However it is well worth your time. It is a story about a young man who leaves Hungry to go to Paris on an academic scholarship to become an architect. it shows his struggle with assimilating from pre-war to then during the war and how his life is completely turned over due to his status of being a Jew and also as he embarks on a new marriage and family. It is very detailed and the writing is absolutely beautiful. I found I liked the book more and more as it went along and the ending will not disappoint you.

personal awakening

I am a lifelong conservative. That said, I am humbled by what I have learned from this (and other) books this year. In Be the Bridge, I found myself challenged, even sometimes in disagreement, and then the author would close the gap and make perfect sense. I highly recommend this book IF you are willing to look honestly at both historical facts and deeply held beliefs. It will change your perspective.

Boring and predictable

I used it to help me get to sleep because it was so humdrum. Won’t be getting any more in this series.

I already feel better!

Don't hold on some conventional and old stories. Don't follow them blindly rather keep yourself motivated, move forward and make your own story of life by your own pen.

confusing but very very interesting

This book has to be one of the most interesting books I had. It is hard to comprehend at first but it starts to open up after the 2nd and 3rd time around. I own lots of book about different religions and beliefs but I must say this is new to me. Confusing but very interesting

Invisible Bridge

Excellent. First half seems a bit lengthy at the time and upon review but it is an excellent and chilling view of what people lived through at the time. Fascinating and gripping.

Excellent story - improvable on narration

This book ranks amongst the best I have read or listened to so far. Unfortunately it is almost spoiled by the incapability of the narrator to correctly pronounce as much as one single hungarian or french name or phrase and the author uses quiet a few of them. This does bother me as I am capable of both languages but might not affect listeners who don`t speak the languages. However, the book itself - the story, the characters ... amazing read.

A must listen/

This book provides an objective perspective of exactly what happened. I don’t always agree with his perspective, but it leads me to believe that it was accurate and precise.

Great book

I read this book because my grandson is reading it in school (he is a junior). I thought it was a beautiful story of a growing friendship, cut off by tragedy, and the mourning process. It was well told, the voice was very nice, and, even as an old lady, I really enjoyed reading it.
