Lowered my handicap.

This book definitely made me a smarter golfer, and I lowered my handicap three strokes in just two months. No kidding.
He supports his information with so much data and charts that I ordered the book shortly after I began listening to it on Audible. Having those charts in the book to review while I listened to the book was priceless.
If you’re serious about becoming a better golfer, this book is worth far more than new clubs or lessons, and much cheaper.

It’s a great book!

His analytical approach to the game reminds me of a top level poker player make decisions. His ideas are thought provoking and have opened some interesting conversations with my golf buddies. And applying his methods have produced immediate gains on the course. If you give his method an honest shot I can’t imagine that you’ll be disappointed. HIGHLY recommended!

Valuable for course management

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this, but I took many little gems away from it. Great for managing expectations and more realistic goal setting.

Put a lot of into perspective…

My biggest take away from the book is course management. And looking at statistics on average shot percentages for example 120 yards hitting it within 20 feet is actually a good shot. Watching golf on TV can distort our mind about what a good shot really is.

Timeless classic with actionable advice

This audiobook was phenomenal, I highly recommend to golfers of all skill levels. Many actionable steps that I have directly applied to my game. I will say, the physical copy may be a better way to consume this however if able but the audiobook is still excellent and read by the author.

Practical Guidance for all Golf Skill Levels

What's particularly helpful as an audiobook is that it feels like you have author Jon Sherman "on your bag" as you size up your expectations, adjust your course management strategy, pull your club selection and, most importantly, mitigate forced errors that add double and triple bogies to your game. The authenticity of the author is clearly evident in the narratives he provides for some long-held notions he himself has dispelled during his years as both competitive and recreational golfer. This is no mere "cut & paste" from the plethora of books and magazine lessons, though he does cite other experts/theories should the reader care to explore the deeper concepts put forth here. Normally an audiobook format might not appeal to earnest learners. That shouldn't be an issue here as the author has provided a free download of a 62-page compendium of support materials demonstrating how the principles put forth in the body of the book are applied and verified. There are other awards at the end of the book one can access online via Sherman's Practical-Golf.com web presence.
