Publisher's summary

Ever since he came out as autistic, Joe Biel has been contacted by people wanting to share their stories and ask questions. The most common question by far is: How do I find a romantic partner?

Dr. Faith G. Harper, author of Unf*ck Your Brain and Unf*ck Your Intimacy, joins autistic publisher and author Joe Biel to offer hard-won guidance on a wide range of topics about friendships, dating, and romance and answer a ton of questions. What do you want out of a relationship? What is the difference between flirting and harassment? How do you have a fun date and get to know someone when eye contact and prolonged conversation aren’t your strengths? How do you change a casual acquaintance into friendship or dating? How do you express your needs and make sure you’re hearing your partner when they express theirs? How do you maintain a healthy, happy long-term relationship?

Autistic listeners will find valuable answers and perspectives in this book, whether they are just getting ready to jump into dating, are seeking to forge closer friendships, or are looking to improve an existing partnership or marriage.

One of the best books I've come across on adult autism and all the different kinds of relationships we can have. I Learned quiet a few new things and found a lot of comfort in this book.

life changing

As i listened to this marvel of a book, i found myself coming to greatly understand who i have always been and why i always felt so out of place in the world . I learned so much about social norms and social cues that i didn't understand prior. it allowed me to chart mistakes I've made because of my obliviousness to the neurotypical individuals thought process differing so much for mine. The amount of revelation i had about situations and conversation i misinterpreted due to my autism was unreal.

Very helpful for all relationships

I did enjoy this book and found it very helpful for specific topics. Lots of context provided, examples, and resources. I specifically needed support in work relationships, which there is segments for but the topic of relationships overlaps so I found relevance throughout the book.

There was an accompanying PDF mentioned but there isn’t one on audible so that was a little disappointing, but overall I am happy with this purchase.

PhD author mention TQ+ ideologies

I think book from autistic relationship not necessarily has to contain gender ideologie words produced under COVID and famed towards TikTok what is hurting the real Trans people. PhD should contain more of a scientific opinion than social media science.

Finally a book for adult autistic relationship

I’ve read all of faith G. Harper’s books and zines, this is incredible and worth every penny. I learned so much about autism and how allistics (new word I learned) are viewed. Cannot recommend enough for literally anyone.

Great book to help me understand my person

I really appreciate this book! As an allistic, I didn't understand my person's behavior when things seemed amazing to me at the time, but she needed a break. This really helps my understanding and hopefully I will be able to communicate better with her now.

Exaggerated interpretation of autism people

I was excited about this audiobook being a mom of an autistic teenager… But the definitions and portraiture of autism is exaggerated and miss concept. Nothing of that I heard can be applied on daily basis with an autistic kid! Don’t waist your time on this there’s a lot better books than this mediocre content

Terrible language. Offensive

Offended by all the bad words. Made me so mad. I would rather listen to something positive and uplifting. I am 24 years old and autistic and using my mom’s Audible account.
