Publisher's summary

If you’ve ever been so pissed off that you did things that you regretted, or ruined your own day and some other people’s, too, this book is for you. Or if you feel angry every single day and it’s affecting your health and sleep and love of life. Or if you have very good reasons to be mad as hell, and you aren’t going to take it anymore. Or if you’ve repressed your anger all your life and now it’s all coming out at once. Microcosm Publishing best seller Dr. Faith explains here what the hell is going on in your brain and how to retrain yourself to deal with enraging situations more productively and without torpedoing your relationships.

Unf*ck Your Anger gives you a heady dose of neuroscience and cultural explanation of what anger is and what it does to you, and then gives you a handy four-step checklist to help you deal with maddening situations after (or before) the fact, guidance on getting over things, and a chapter on forgiveness. Your brain actually knows what it’s doing, and anger can be a good thing sometimes - just not if it’s ruining your life.

Self Help in a short digestible nutshell

When this book was recommended to me all I could think was “Do I have energy for another self help book”? The answer is yes! Lots of information packed down into a short 2.25 hours. Some of this information isn’t new, but the way she ties it all together in a neat little package is refreshing. There were times that I craved more info, but now I can search it on my own. As for everyone complaining about the language, the name of the book is “Unfuck Your Anger”. What did you expect?

An Angry book to help angry people

Honestly this was probably the best (and probably funniest) content i have ever went through that is intended to help with self-management of ones' emotions, it does not sugarcoat it, it does not pretend it is easy, and uses vulgarity to get under your skin and spread the message of the angry reasoning and how to better understand and cope with it.

Definitely a great read/listen for anyone that actually is confronting with the burning fire of anger too frequently.

Life saver

I have no words to describe what this book did for me, thank you Faith G Haper! I would recommend this book to everyone who struggles with anger (mildly or has a full blown war with it, only to lose every time). I love the narrator and everything else about this book. xxxx

some really good strategies for dealing with anger

in general i thought there was some really useful information for learning to deal with anger, but the swearing kind of felt like a teenager who just figured out what bad words are and is determined to use them as often as possible.

Great advice

Some things I was already aware of but a handful were new to me and very useful in everyday life. Anger really is like a hot potato. It takes someone not passing it along to really make a difference.

Good start

Covers a lot and is a good start for controlling anger. Started using a lot of the techniques already. Last 40 minutes was difficult to listen because it was calming techniques that helped me relax and I became distracted.

Good but Profane

There’s actually a lot of excellent and helpful points in this book. The author is a compulsive user of profanity, and they found a very mismatched reader for it. The reader has this very pleasant, female voice. That sounds like Donna Reid and she’s dropping F bombs like a dude in a biker bar. But if you can get through the unnecessary use of profanity, this is actually a pretty good read.

On repeat.

I think I’m a diehard fan now, the way that she speaks makes it easier for me to pay attention and not get distracted. I have now listen to this three different times, and I will continue to listen to it as I feel that what she says helps and it works.
