As the last survivor in a secret government bunker, he knows that the other survivors are scared, angry, and dangerous, just like him. After weeks alone with the mummified bodies of his colleagues, he escapes the bunker. But the world outside has changed. Among the crumbling ruins of civilization, he loses himself to the wilderness in his soul. When he sees Caroline, a fellow survivor, she is vision of light in a world gone dark. He wants to help her, but she won't trust him when there's danger around every corner. How can he convince her that fate has brought them together?

A little predictable but still good

I did find the story a little predictable but over all it was good. Steamy adult moments and some tears.

Amazing Story

Between the story from the author and the performance of the narrator, this VERY current event driven book is amazing. Had to read/listen in one sitting and will listen to it again!

Hope and love wins!

Must listen to this book. Emma Castle has a winner. Jeremy York, as always, kills the narration. Jeremy's voice is always perfect. What you waiting on get the book. Do hope we get more of Ms. Castle's book. By the way, please, have Jeremy York for the narrator.

It was okay

I thought the performance was enjoyable, but the story was very uneventful. Started off strong, but then I quickly realized that nothing is happening in the book... the entire time.

Lovely story but dramatized & biased

I really do enjoy Emma’s Castle books. I was confused at first because I thought the story would entail fallen angel series. Nonetheless, the story was about a major epidemic. I would suggest to those who are emotional about the COVID to wait to read this book because it is very triggering.

The pros: great quality writing, perfect for the story line quotes and segments of poetry. Amazing description and development of characters as well as drama factor that will bring you to tears. Lots of deaths and destruction and overall very emotional story. As always there is a very happy ending albeit unrealistic one.

Cons: bias and stereotype pertaining to other countries. Glorification of U.S and it’s ability to develop vaccine even in the most limited capacity. “If only it was true.”

Also, mentioning something like Russia went Nuclear to fix the situation is the biggest flop. I almost chocked as I was drinking my tea when I listened to that portion of the book. Although I’m a scientist ...you don’t have to be one to understand that going nuclear will cause radiation, or the author forgot that it was the US who went nuclear on Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Also, I would be offended if I was from Russia cause it’s was Russia that was the first to provide aid to US and Italy among other countries ...as well as the first to develop vaccine against COVID-19 not to mention they have a history of being a super power for vaccines, and helped to perfect the Ebola Vaccine.so mentioning in the book that they went nuclear is self sabotage ....radiation kills everything....so that part needs to be carefully evaluated and corrected.
