Great Starter!

This a very good book for beginners or those curious about BDSM. It is very detailed in various forms of kink and rules on playing safe. It has insightful with scenes that explain the emotional connection and conduct. Although, the book is more geared towards lifestyle there is plenty of useful information for those just curious.

Excellent read

I truly struggled with the ethical slut. There were so many problematic ideations and narrow viewpoints that both triggered and disturbed me. Here I feel the authors are on ground where they truly shine.

Very helpful and well written

With the exception of the last chapter, which was a bit nee-agey for my tastes, I learned more from this book than the last three on the same topic. The narrator was excellent too.

A MUST for the kinkster

This thoroughly covers the more psychological aspects to BDSM play as the top. This would also be helpful for a bottom to read to gain more perspective. There are anecdotal stories to illustrate concepts. It is easy to read and understand. Great for any level! I absolutely loved it and would recommend to anyone kinky.

Not what I expected

This wasn't what I expected when I bought the book, it's more an intro to BDSM society, culture, and norms, than any else. I guess I didn't really know what to expect, but the book gave me a new appreciation of the people that really get into BDSM. It gets a bit preachy at some points, and when they talk about BDSM rituals they got a bit far out for me, but it wasn't a detractor for me, just not my cup of tea.

I'd recommend this if you wanted to know more about BDSM culture, rather than an intro to the what, and how.

Great Info for EVERYONE

The voices are amazing, and the fact that they're the authors is super cool. The information contained in this book is great to have whether you're a Top (an all-encompassing term) or a bottom (also all-encompassing). They discuss cis-het, poly, lesbian, gay, and so much more. There is definitely a reason this (and the companion Bottoming Book) are on everyone's recommendation lists! You won't be disappointed!

Unique and educational!

This book is well written, and outlines the fundamentals of safe and consensual activities with another person or people, whether in the BDSM sphere, in (a) vanilla sexual/romantic relationship(s), both, or neither. May not be the best read for those in the ace/aro spectrum who happen to be sex-repulsed, although skipping the "interlude" sections may alleviate distress in that vein. Although I have some experience as a switch, I still learned a LOT from this read. I felt acknowledged as a member of the LGBT community and a polyamorous person without feeling as though the authors had to carve out room for that language or shove it in after the fact. Good for the curious, beginners, intermediates, and experts in the kink world. My first Audible listen, and certainly not my last from these two. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
